cmoss84 Verified Member Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 I know trades within a division are rare...like, incredibly rare. But what if... Would you make this trade? Jose is under contract for two years at $26 million total. He is 29. To Cleveland: Arraez, Royce Lewis, Trevor Larnach, and Blayne Enlow A package like this might be too good to pass up for CLE, and this might entice Correa to stay for a bit longer...at least a second year?
cHawk Community Moderator Posted March 20, 2022 Posted March 20, 2022 I would never give Royce Lewis or Arraez to Cleveland. Ever.

Why would that get him to stay? He's not staying. It's not like Houston is bad.... He, rightly, wants the money and a longer deal, I'd guess. And, no chance I give up that much for two years of anyone short of Sherzer.
The Mad King Verified Member Posted March 21, 2022 Posted March 21, 2022 Ramirez is 29??? I thought he was my age. I'll save the money, keep the players, and take my chances with Urshella or Miranda.
cmoss84 Verified Member Posted March 21, 2022 Author Posted March 21, 2022 Fair enough! Not a popular option apparently! Ramirez is a top-5 player in the game...I'd go all in. Would add as many pieces for a 2-year window as possible. Then tear down and rebuild. None of this matters if we don't get more SP help any way...

No point in using assets to add more offense when you might already be looking at Lewis Thorpe or Devin Smeltzer as your 5th starter.

There's a small chance he waits, even with a good-not-great year in 2022--Turner and Bogaerts will probably be hitting the market after 2022, whereas post-2023 looks totally barren right now. Correa could do worse than bank $70M, and then be the only better than average SS option on the market, all while still under 30.
