David Youngs Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Sunday afternoon's Mother's Day rubber match against the Tigers was postponed due to rain. The game is rescheduled as part of a split doubleheader on July 16th in Detroit. The rescheduled game will begin at 1:10pm CST and the originally scheduled game will be played at 6:10pm CST. Baseball on Mother's Day has become a staple. And while it's unfortunate that the Twins couldn't play today, the organization made sure to recognize one of the the true all stars in Twins Territory. Meghann Morse. The Twins announced that Morse, this wife of Twins Director of Communications Dustin, would serve as today's honorary Bat Girl. Morse is a Breast Cancer survivor and was thanked by the Twins in a heartwarming video. She will be honored at Target Field on Friday.

LA Vikes Fan Verified Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Best thing that could have happened to us. Every additional game in which Arraez and Kirilloff can participate is a good thing. With Polanco heating up a little, maybe the order can go 6 hitters deep.

And the k's keep mounting. My word.....

shortround81 Verified Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 What? A reschedule over a rain delay? "Welcome to Major League Baseball. Sort of." - Harry Doyle I know we suck but play ball!

I've haven't wasted my time listening to any of Rocco's postgame comments, but his quote..."we took good ABs until we got guys in scoring position," reminded me of Alfred Ogilvie's line from the classic 1976 film, 'Bad News Bears'--------After the Bears got drubbed 17-1 in their 2nd game, Ogilvie said.."well we did have some positives...we hit 17 foul balls and Tanner almost beat out that groundball for a basehit" I seriously think when Twins return to Target Field, it would be hilarious to "cue up" Bizet's Carmen whenever the Twins get RISP or when Rocco makes a pitching change. Maybe some (well deserved) public humiliation would motivate this team.

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 The twins lose even when they don’t play. Huascar Ynoa went 6 innings and gave up 4 hits and a run for the braves tonight on Sunday night baseball. You might remember Ynoa as the guy the twins traded to Atlanta for one week of Jamie garcia. He’s about to be 4-1 with a 2.23 ERA and a WHIP of 0.89.
