I'm glad they extended him, but I do think it's an overpay. O'Neill is maybe the 8th/9th best RT in the game, probably deserving of $13/14M a year, but instead they're paying him like a LT. Hopefully his game will improve as his contract goes up in cap hits.

I don't think there are any concerns about them failing this year.  Be thankful that they are embarrassing themselves early so we can spend our Sundays doing other things.

I think we’re really starting to see the effect of the new massive TV contract due to arrive next year. Similar to the Kirk deal in 2018, O’Niell’s contract will eventually slide to top 10 in 1-2 years.

Plus...what's the alternative?  Good offensive linemen are hard as hell to find, you can't risk him hitting the market.

What do you mean? Rashod Hill and his ilk are always around.

Sean Mannion is getting promoted from the practice squad. Meaning he’s almost certainly the #2 QB. Why? I don’t imagine anyone actually thinks Mannion could win an NFL game. Who cares if the #2 has (minimal) NFL experience? If Cousins goes down, they’ll lose the game unless they’re up big. If he’s out long term, the season is over.

I guess they trust him more than Mond... but ideally I wouldn't want Mond getting into a game before he is ready. So if they're guaranteed to lose without Kirk, then it doesn't matter who's at QB. Then again, if Mond is ready to go... they had better not let a mediocre vet like Mannion block him.

They completely beat themselves. They should’ve beaten the Bengals but they didn’t. If they play like this against Arizona they are getting rolled.
