Indeed there have been, which again, does nothing to excuse THIS bonehead play.

Not necessarily boneheaded, it’s literally the guys first time out there, right field in the majors is not easy, maybe MOY is the bonehead for putting him out there.

Is his defense any better than Nick Gordon to warrant a roster spot over him?

dunno, but in the specific case of Gordon, he's been on Covid protocol and only recently started rehab at Ft Myers.

Even the Tigers can throw two actual starters in a double header....

This for me is what is making the game unenjoyable. Bullpen games used to be in absolute desperate situations.

Corner outfield is corner outfield, and he's been an outfielder for a decade.

What I Will say is, perhaps Falvine should have added a RH hitting spare outfielder, as many of us called for.

Right field is tougher than left, most balls in right are slicing away from the fielder, I still say the ball gets by him anyways, so no harm no foul, it’s gonna be a learn as you go with some of these guys

Wonder why he's on the 40 man and not on the IL?

Man, when Sano goes into a slump, he really goes into a slump.

but i was told he was cured and even good enough to lead off

I'll never understand this obsession with watching starters pitch instead of relievers. I want to watch the pitchers that give us the best opportunity to win the game. I would understand it if we had any bullpen arms that were being overworked this season, but that hasn't happened, and it's only a 60-game season anyway. I like the way Rocco has been playing it so far.

The issue I have with bullpen games is, the more pitchers you run out there, the bigger the chance you have that at least one of them isn’t sharp. I’m for starters, throw 6 or even 7

Because it’s sad that we don’t have a better starting pitcher option than 4 innings of wisler, poppen and thielbar

occasionally, when circumstances dictate, ok. Like today, DHer in front of 7 games in 5 days.

But not every 5th day for over a month. That has effects on a staff well beyond that days game.

It just seems like an old school vs. new school mentality to me. I know a lot of people long for the days of starters regularly going 7-8 innings, not caring about pitch counts, only trusting 4-5 relievers in the pen, etc... But the game has changed, and there's a reason why these things aren't the norm anymore. It seems to be working pretty well for the Twins so far this season.

Just tuning in. Looks like there was a no-hitter in progress but Rocco removed the starter anyway. Anyone have any thoughts about this? Methinks managers have gone overboard coddling arms with strict pitch counts.

its not normal for teams to run a bullpen game every 5th day, even in 2020.
