Pollen with the best stuff on the team—but not quite. But I’d say his stuff moves the most.

Edit: Pollen, Poppen, whoever lol :)

 

 

Poppen is a AAAA pitcher. 93-94 with mediocre movement. Curve is pretty basic. I don't know, I'd rather see Duran.

Time will tell. He could harness his control and learn the league / learn to pitch, or he could go the way of 80-90% of all the other pitching prospects

I was expecting the Indians to blow this game open, but instead Poppen gets Lindor on a DP groundball in one pitch... not bad.

No, but it is his fault for pulling Hill after striking out the side with only 75 pitches. It is his fault for not putting Duffey in instead of Alcala. Those are his decisions.

I guess it just doesn't make sense to pull the guy when he's dealing and only at 75 pitches.

Didn't he miss a start or two? I'm with ya and wanna see everyone pitch until the cows come home, but i can understand caution.

Yeah, maybe.

 

But he's 40, it's only his 3rd start (2nd since coming off injury), and he's thrown a total of less than 8 innings all year.

 

Personally, I have no problem with taking Hill out after 5. 

 

I blame Alcala.

Alcala is going to play a big role in the playoffs, I suspect, as another flamethrower. Have to get him battle-tested. It just didn't work out well tonight, unfortunately. Hill is still fragile. I understand why Rocco made the move.

Doesn't matter now. I just think Rocco has been pretty quick with the starters so far this season. Hell, Hill may end up on the IL regardless of pitching that 6th inning after tonight. Dude has been a pro for 16 years has less than 1000 innings...

5 innings is all Rocco wants to let anyone pitch, Maeda could have went six last night, and he was pitching on 5 days rest, so you really can’t blame his 112 pitch outing for that. Our bullpen will fail us if we demand they pitch 4 innings every night
