Graterol has pretty good form, but his stuff right now is hittable. Hopefully he will learn how to spot his pitches in more effective places. Otherwise, he might get stuck in a relief role.

Well, it would be helpful if we had a real pitcher in there. I mean Graterol is great and will be good in the future ... but with a game this close, it wasn't the time for him.

 

Hindsight is always 20/20 and I probably would have persisted with Smeltzer, but Graterol is a "real" pitcher... He's got the best stuff in the organization and games like this will help build him up for postseason...

I'm not certain he'll be on the post-season roster. By 'real' pitcher ... I meant not so fresh. The game is close enough that an experienced reliever would be my call. Not a recent call up.
