We’ve had this conversation before. Contending teams don’t deplete their depth if they don’t have to. The Twins don’t have to. Pretty much that simple IMO.

But Arraez ability to be optioned and recalled as needed is an even bigger value. If Eihre gets hurt Luis can step in. If Luis gets hurt...

I'm a big fan of Arraez, but good teams shouldn't give up quality players for nothing.  Arraez has definitively proven that he is the 26th man, so unless you think the Twins will have 0 position player trips to the IL the rest of the year, you send Arraez down rather than DFA Adrianza.  Especially when you consider that in 86 PA's after May 1, Adrianza has gone .315/.407/.466/.873, with a 132 wRC+ and .7 bb/k rate.
