Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Author Posted May 19, 2018 I don't know, are these Brewer subs good players? Or are the just good against the Twins. Who's this Choi character? Choi's been a good AAAA guy for awhile (their version of Kennys Vargas). They could have called up Keon Broxton (their version of Byron Buxton) or Brett Phillips (their version of Zack Granite) instead. When Healthy: They have: C - Pina, Vogt, Bandy, Nottingham, Bethencourt1B- Thames Aguilar, Braun, Vogt, Choi2B- Villar, Perez, Franklin, Saladino(was Sogaard)3B- Shaw, Perez, FranklinSS- Arcia, Perez, Villar, Franklin LF- Yelich, Santana, Broxton, PhillipsCF-Cain, Yelich, Broxton, PhillipsRF- Braun, Santana, Broxton, Phillips. Still pretty formidable.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 It's getting late early. The only thing keeping the Twins alive is the underperformance of the Indians, who are still the overwhelming favorites. Playoff probability drops by the day while the Twins continue to lose winnable games against mediocre pitchers. Only real hope now is for Santana and Sano to come back and be productive. The Indians won't be this mediocre all year. I think we used our “just be happy to get in (to the playoffs)” last year. This club, as is, would embarrass themselves in the postseason if they were to somehow limp in.
mickeymental Verified Member Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 maybe the twins can engineer a trade for oswaldo arcia — he’s got a .766 ops for the ham fighters.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Might be time for a "Magill, go throw 80 pitches and hit DFA" time.but Magill has been OK. How about Hughes, go throw till your arm falls off, then hit the 60 day mickeymental, wsnydes and snepp 3

Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Can we forfeit the d.h. and use a designated fielder for buxtondoes the DH have to be for your pitcher? I think it does
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Author Posted May 19, 2018 Is it just me or does Buxton start every at bat with two strikes before he even steps in the box? He is completely lost up there. It looks like he is trying to get a look at the pitcher so he let's the first strike go by right down the middle, then he swings at something out of the zone and boom... there ya have an 0-2 count. Pitch recognition is what he is struggling with. nicksaviking 1

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Apparently Mauer needs more time off from first base duties. jkcarew 1

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 I'm so done with Mauer. Don't want him back next year at any price.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Are we sure it’s not injury/illness related? It probably is. I just want more from first base, than some walks and a few soft singles to left. Along with the need for time off every third or fourth game. For 23 million. Danchat and Richie the Rally Goat 2
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Author Posted May 19, 2018 Recognition, and hitting it when he does recognize it. In 2018... Sano and Buxton are the exact same player in my eyes. Both are swinging at Garbage, Both are getting hurt and Both are critical to providing any kind of Right Handed Balance to a majority left handed lineup. If Sano and Buxton don't help this team, our need for a Right Handed Bat is comparable to the way a Grizzly needs Salmon. wsnydes 1

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 About all our Homer Hankys are good for with this offense.I was perusing YouTube yesterday and found a random Sunday night baseball game from early 1992...they were running down the scores and when they got to ours, they said “and the world champion twins...I got sad because I was only 5 and just missed out :’’’’’’( nicksaviking 1

When Buxton guesses right, he swings and misses but comes closer to the ball. Mike Sixel and Aggies7 2
