ashbury Verified Member Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Aaron "Stretch" Slegers, merely because tall people sometimes get called that
ashbury Verified Member Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Ervin "Johan the Younger" Santana - technically inaccurate after he legally changed his name.
ashbury Verified Member Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 "Hip Hip" Jorge Polanco - trite by now, and IndianaTwin's idea was better
ashbury Verified Member Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Anibal "Lecter" Sanchez - gruesome, but perhaps works.
ashbury Verified Member Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Grouping these three together...No one as yet has mentioned the low-hanging fruit of Ryan "The King" Pressly?Ditto, Jason "Fidel" Castro.Ditto, Eduardo "Pablo" Escobar, though slightly more obscure.
ashbury Verified Member Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Ehire "Ay-Ray" Adrianza - to teach people how to say his name is enough
gocgo Verified Member Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Jake Odorizzi: Credit goes to whoever came up with the Bermanism “Eggs” Odorizzi on a prior thread. This also acknowledges the goose eggs he’s going to put on the scoreboard every five days. Sorry...I gotta go with the obvious on this one - Stink.
gocgo Verified Member Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Zack "Countertop" Granite - love it or hate it, probably hate itLeaning toward Rock...just Rock...no first name, no last name, kinda like Cher, Madonna....just Rock.
ashbury Verified Member Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Leaning toward Rock...just Rock...no first name, no last name, kinda like Cher, Madonna....just Rock.Yeah, it's inevitably going to be something like that. He probably got tired of the playground banter by third grade, but oh well. He could pull an Ervin Santana and file for a legal name change, if it bothers him.
Tom Froemming Twins Daily Contributor Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 OK, the rules said one at a time. Brace yourselves... Kennys "Bye Bye" Vargas - for the home runs, or for his destiny with the team? How about Viva Las Vargas?

ashbury Verified Member Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 I'm good with that. Who wouldn't want the nickname "Countertop" Hey Countertop!!! Exactly! It has the merit of getting the attention of one and only one person when shouted into a crowd.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 Exactly! It has the merit of getting the attention of one and only one person when shouted into a crowd. It'll be at its most interesting at a crowded convenience store. Zach will acknowledge while everyone else will wonder why the person doesn't keep going and name everything else he sees. "Counter top, magazine rack, refrigerator full of rock star. real old looking hot dogs". (True Story) We had a cat named "Rope" and the cat got outside one day. My wife went out and yelled "Rope" and yelled that at intervals trying to call the cat back. I don't know how many "Rope" calls it took but eventually our neighbor brought some rope over. (True Story)
