Here is the article that Rhett posted from the Twins home page.

Nick Gordon is the headliner.

Three pitchers: Myles Jaye, Michael Kohn, and Jake Reed.

Three catchers: Willians Astudillo, Brian Navarreto, and Bobby Wilson.

Four infielders: Taylor Featherston, Nick Gordon, Gregorio Petit, and Brock Stassi.

Three outfielders: Nick Buss, Ryan LaMarre, and LaMonte Wade

Surprises?

Disappointments?

Seriously?!? 2 extra catchers, 3 prospects and a bunch of not-even-suspects. Why clutter up camp with some of these guys instead of pushing real prospects up to see what they can do?!?

Well, you always invite too many catchers. You'd think the Twins may want to look at some folks like Kohl Stewart, perhaps.

They left off a few of the free-agent minor league signing guys.

Seems they feel the roster is pretty...set!

I could be wrong on this. But, I seem to recall that if you get hurt in MLB Spring Training, you go on the MLB disabled list. Which, of course, would start the service time clock.

This would explain why teams would be hesitant to bring legit prospects, until/unless they are close enough the the majors to actually be worth that risk.

I don’t think anyone would be put on the “regular” DL until the last few days of ST. Players could certainly be added to the 60 day.

I'm surprised that Tyler Jay and Kohl Stewart weren't invited.  Seems like a low risk move as you wouldn't be wasting any option years.

I am surprised Kohl Stewart wasn’t invited. Even if he doesn’t seem like the prospect he once was I would think inviting him to Spring Training would give him extra motivation to become a better pitcher, especially if he potentially could be better than he is now.
