Yep! He waited on his pitch and hit a pea into the hole for a solid base hit! He's baaaack!  Too bad Mauer's wheels prevented him from getting an RBI.

Too true! Dick has been berating this "gimmick" since yesterday, saying how pointless it is. Why? I think it's a pretty cool thing for a player to do, especially on the 2nd-to-last day during a lost season. I don't think it's unprofessional, nor am I bothered by it...

Yeah, I'm tired of hearing about Romine playing all positions. If anything, I give Ausmus credit for finding a way to put some fun back into what has been a miserable season for the Tigers. And I'm quite sure the season became somewhat less than fun for the Tigers a couple of months ago.

Dick continues to rip on Romine playing all nine positions today (presumably), saying it's a footnote.

 

How many times has he raved about Tovar doing the same thing?

Tovar was a home game; doing this on the road seems weird.

If they really wanted to make things interesting they'd take Farmer out after four with the lead, let Romine pitch the fifth, play his other positions, and then close it out in the ninth.

There is some kind of football game happening at Soldier Field right now and the announcing is louder than it is at Bears games. With the windows open I can hear it well. As well as the Guns n Roses concert there a summer ago.

But I do understand that North is some kinda hose manipulator...of some sort? I couldn't really make out everything the guy was saying, to be honest. He had a real stupid accent.
