Beltre called out on a clear ball inside. I hate it. Even if it was in favor of the Twins. I hate it.

Ump was even looking right at it... looking over the inside shoulder.... still missed it.

Seriously. Even if he threw a perfect strike to home there, it still wouldn't have been a close play.

Not only that, but it's the first inning. Keep the runner from advancing. Don't let this become a big inning by allowing runners to advance.

Ball cut across the inside edge of the plate.  Umpire is standing right there in that position over the inside portion of the plate.  If he can't see that, then he shouldn't be in the majors.

However, he does have a bit of a low strike tonite.  That should guarantee Castro looking at a strike 3 there sometime tonite.

Not only that but get to the ball like there is a possibility that the runner may try to score from 2nd. He came in on the ball casual and wasn't in position to field the ball and throw. He just happened to notice that Deshields was going for home and then tried to throw it awkwardly.

Buxton was wrong on many levels.

The funny part was that I was being funny since I was assuming it had to be the Minnesota Zoo because you didn't mention where.

Now that it turns out to be random city somewhere across the fruited plain. Your Post becomes the early leader for post of the night.

Not sure if that's an honor with my post.

My excuse was I was on the phone talking about this last minute trip and forgot to post it. St. Louis was spoken by me to my Son, didn't type it

And don't worry, my Son is doing the driving, I will get there and back.

I hope Roy Smalley stays out of the left lane if he doesn't drive 67. Then again, I've driven in Minnesota, and the "passing lane" is more like the "I don't care about anyone else lane," so I guess I wouldn't hold out hope.

You said it, not me. Sure it cut over the plate....... sure it did. Umpires stand right there, and miss them all the time. No different tonight.

I have only been to St. Louis once and I think we ate at Buffalo Wild Wings so i can't help there.

However... if you tell me where you are starting... I kind find cool stuff to stop at along the way.

Sooooooo, Molitor must have pulled different names out of the hat tonite when he made out the lineup card.  What would have been wrong with Mauer leading off again?  Worked pretty well yesterday.

One of my favorites -- those who can call balls & strikes from an angle or from behind a fence or from 200 feet away.  Come on out and strap on the gear and let's see how you do.    :)

I am just relying on the tech. I am not calling them. The tech is, and showing us, every pitch. With no bias, With no bad angle. Consistent and correct. I have never wanted to be an umpire. I don't have the need for power in that role.

That's it for me on the subject tonight. It is what it is.... until the tech is used, which is going to happen, just a matter of time now.......

Smalley is right about Sano - the guy is only going to get better. He already has a great eye, knows how to work counts (when he wants to), and his swing guarantees 30 + homers per year, even without much plate discipline.

The Twins are fortunate to have a few players like that. Sano, Kepler, Buxton, Rosario, Polanco, and now Zach Granite and hopefully a few more guys coming up. On the mound, Berrios and Mejia are cutting their teeth, along with Hildenburger, Busenitz, etc. All the young guys seem to be gradually getting better. Already I can say 2017 has been far from a wasted season. The core of a serious contender is emerging before our eyes.

I would rather watch Bartolo at age 73 than Gibson at any age.

Neither of those options are what I want near the mound for the twins at this point.

At what point is this FO going to realize that Kyle Gibson is not a good pitcher? Reminds me of Blackburn at this point. I guess they just see the one good season and ignore the other awful ones.

I was just wondering the same thing.

Again.
