Game Thread: Twins v Angels, 7/4 @ 1:10 PM CDT (11:10 AM for us out here)

Gibson pitches the seventh?

In the name of all that's holy, please no!

It is the Fourth of July weekend - that is when Hollywood traditionally releases the big special effects disaster movies...  Gibsobgedon.   [Although maybe it will go well and the bullpen probably needs as much rest as they can get].

[ThejacKmp]

This half inning is going to be long and scary one. Good to get some runs and at least it's the bottom of the Angels order. knocks on wood.

[Circus Boy]

He and Provuous are a good team-up.  And while I have grown to like Dan, I don't always mind when he sometimes disappears for a few innings.

BTW, been meaning to ask, what're the names of the two pups in your avatar?

[jimmer]

Gibson has been really sharp today.  Good to see.

Violet is the dog -- the other one was a cat who she spent half the weekend looking for under the cabin.

[jimmer]

Not sure I like the idea of pulling Gibson here (I can't believe I typed those words).

I might be developing a fever.

I've been hard on Gibson throughout this season but I give him a lot of credit for getting out of the jams in the innings that he gave up runs.

Now let's hope the bullpen can keep it together.

[spinowner]

I was hoping Gibson could finish the seventh but I think Molitor is right to pull him here.

[Jerr]

Good job Gibson, now on to our bullpen

[ThejacKmp]

Is Taylor Rogers the third most deserving All-Star for the Twins? It's either him or Berrios. I guess you could throw Kintzler in there if you love saves.

[TwinsCD]

So let's leave Rogers in for the 8th and see how he starts out.  No sense in going to someone else just for the sake of starting a new inning.

Yeah it was his highest pitch count of the year.

[jimmer]

Yeah it was his highest pitch count of the year.

So, over 50? :-)

[jimmer]

So how good are those Diamond Dogs?

[jimmer]

What was Adrianza doing there?

[jimmer]

He's out at 2B.

It sounds like it was a bone-headed move by the runner, but the team is so much better defensively this year.  Not that that has not been said 100 times already, but it is fun to watch them on the field this year not just at bat.

[wsnydes]

Ol Albert didn't get cheated on that one...

[TwinsCD]

Ummmmm, Taylor?  I think those previous 2 pitches that Albert fouled off should have told you that he was zeroed in one whatever you were throwing.  One outside the zone may not have been the worst thing in the world.

Kintzler is only an All-Star if you own stock in antacids and drywall companies.

[Jerr]

Kintzler such a tease and drama guy

[spinowner]

Dangit!

[jimmer]

A lot of guys would have to get hurt or bow out for him to be an All Star.
