BoofBonser Verified Member Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 As the Rockies leave Minnesota… the Royals arrive in Minnesota for a 3-game series. Both team names start with “Ro” so it’s almost like we are playing the same team. Now… there are some differences… but a few other similarities… like… they both play baseball and they will both try to beat the Twins. Both teams believe it is bad luck to be superstitious, both teams think Pelicans have an advantage when it comes to catching fly balls, both teams believe it is handy to use sign language and both teams do not believe in reincarnation and they didn’t believe in reincarnation last time either.Good luck to all trying to tell these two teams apart but I’ll tell you this… only one is real at the moment. Here are some things to think about: 1. Sioux Falls – 29% of the South Dakota state population lives in Sioux Falls. Due to weight distribution, the state is out of balance and this causes a slight tilt to the state. As a result of this tilt, everything in the state tends to roll toward the southeast. This has been proven through experiments conducted in Pierre. If you place an orange on the kitchen table, it will roll off toward the southeast. Because of this… Sioux Falls has been overrun with rogue oranges. Sioux Falls has a population of 178,500. Because the state doesn’t have corporate income tax the town has become overrun with bankers… and… umm… oranges. Approximately 154,000 of the 178,500 people are bankers. I know that sounds like a lot of bankers and you may ask what about the children. Well… most of the children are also bankers. Typical 8-year-olds are seen giving away toasters to people along with those little 'tell a friend' cards. An interesting fact about Sioux Falls… nobody would know what was happening in Hollywood if it weren’t for Sioux Falls. Pat O’Brien, of Access Hollywood fame, and Mary Hart, of Entertainment Tonight fame, are perhaps the most famous Sioux Falls alum and are both perhaps the world’s most famous bankers. Northeast South Dakota is better Riverbrian 1

spinowner Provisional Member Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 Now, from this second forward, I want to think about nothing work related until 6 am Monday. If we don't know what you do for work we don't know what subject to avoid. And if you tell us what you do for work you're thinking about something work related. Riverbrian 1
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 Anyone else have an OCD about the way catchers throw the ball back? Perez is very aesthetically appealing in that regardAs a Twins fan, it's not something I pay much attention to. For one thing, I don't see much of it. Riverbrian and bird 2
spinowner Provisional Member Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 And as a child, always got out of bed to watch their TV commercials!!!! "From the land of sky blue Waters"!!!!Loved the one where the guy is watching a baseball game on the TV in the bar, the little baseball comes out of the screen and the guy throws it back at the screen, shattering the TV. One spot down from this thread in the main forum.

I always thought not being allowed within a 100 yards just one of the rights and privileges pertaining thereto... Mike Sixel and Riverbrian 2
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2017 Author Posted May 20, 2017 Ok, serious question...who the **** is Nate Karns? Serious Answer; He's the type of pitcher that I would have liked to see the Twins pick up. He has always been a big strikeout guy. His Curveball is nasty. One of the best in the league. I've liked him since I saw pitch for the Rays a couple of years ago. His ERA hasn't really matched the talent I see with him but I think he is a guy who can put it together and be real good. USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 Pretty poor changeup there, Santiago-zee.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 Fortunate the wheels didn't completely come off
spinowner Provisional Member Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 Let's get this offense unleashed now, boys!
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 TERRIBLE decision to send him with no outs spinowner, USAFChief, Dozier's Glorious Hair and 1 other 4
BoofBonser Verified Member Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 What a dumb decision to send Sano there... strikeout here and any out next at bat turns 2 runs into 0 Dozier's Glorious Hair and spinowner 2
spinowner Provisional Member Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 C'mon, Glynn, that wasn't close. Nobody out, two solid hits, early in the game, no need to chance it. Oldgoat_MN and Dozier's Glorious Hair 2
BoofBonser Verified Member Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 TERRIBLE decision to send him with no outsYou pissed? I'm pissed.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 Torii has no problem with sending sano. To be fair, he's about 100 lbs lighter
Darius Verified Member Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 Bad decision by Gene. Don't agree with Torii that it was a good move.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 Send him with 2 outs? Every time. No outs? oofda. snepp, spinowner and Dozier's Glorious Hair 3
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 Why would we be able to get a ball out of the infield with a man on third
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2017 Author Posted May 20, 2017 In my experience... Anytime a runner is thrown out. It never looks good for the base coach who sent him.
Darius Verified Member Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 That decision by Glenn is going to cost them a run, or more. Maybe the game. BoofBonser and USAFChief 2
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 That decision by Glenn is going to cost them a run, or more. Maybe the game.Certainly cost them a chance at a big inning, but that's assuming the team isn't completely inept at driving in runners from third
Linus Verified Member Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 Ok. Pretty much screwed up that inning.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 That fly ball to end the inning would have been a sac fly. Oh well, no use crying over spilled beer. Get 'em next inning.
BoofBonser Verified Member Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 (edited) Squandering runs has killed the team this year... most of the team's close games this year have been decided by leaving tons of runners on and not capitalizing on opportunitiesIt's much more frustrating than just tipping your cap to the other team for outplaying you Edited May 20, 2017 by BoofBonser
Darius Verified Member Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 In my experience... Anytime a runner is thrown out. It never looks good for the base coach who sent him.Especially when that runner is thrown out after a bad relay throw, and a bad throw home. Two good throws and the catcher has time to check his watch before the tag.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 If it's 2nd and 3rd, no outs, they play the IF back, Polanco's gnd ball scores one, moves Kepler up. Castro's fly ball scores Kepler, it's 2-1 Twins, still batting. A major league 3rd base coach really shouldn't make that bad of a decision. Dozier's Glorious Hair, Oldgoat_MN and BoofBonser 3
