I'm hoping it's Friday, not Monday, and that it stays away from my neighborhood.

 

But be prepared. When I said a drunken mess, you really have no idea unless you were around for the Stanley Cup or any St. Patrick's Day, I mean, falling down, throwing up, throw your garbage everywhere, pee on the streets and in the alleys, cram into all forms of public transportation all before noon drunken mess. But there also will be lots of excited happy people, and yes, that's fun. So find the right pocket to be in.

i have partied in central american countries during carnival (mardi gras). 4 day parties that never slow down. I doubt i would see anything at a party in the states i hadnt seen before. Of course, i was in my 20s...

The bunt.....

 

The dude was going to strike out anyway, no chance he could lay off a breaking ball in the dirt. They decided to see if he could get a bunt down. It was, imo, a decision made in a very specific context, not something he does over and over and over. It was also very late in the game, where 1 run matters due to the leverage of the situation.

 

I didn't like the decision, but I can justify it. Much easier than a sacrifice bunt in inning 2 or 4, for example...

Going into the series I didn't really care who won. But the over-the-top media pro-Cubs frenzy drove me into the Indians camp.

Wanna see something hilarious? During the pregame interview for game seven, a reporter jokingly asked Francona if he thought it was a must win game. Hilarious question and Francona"s reaction was priceless!

I was one of the WTF commenters at the time but I think this is a good analysis. BTW, Maddon once ordered Grant Balfour to intentionally walk Josh Hamilton. With the bases loaded. The Rays won the game.

They estimated 5 million people showed up. REALLY glad I wasn't home. I wouldn't have been able to do anywhere since it was just a couple blocks from me. Look at the gallery of photos. Unreal.

I am quite disappointed, but alas, my co-worker (and friend) being a huge Chicago fan (all teams Chicago) was very joyful and I enjoyed watching him that way.
