Game Thread: Twins vs. Tigers, 9/21/16 @ 7:10pm CST

Polanco delivers - with Kepler and Sano coming up - battling for who can have the higher batting average by the end of the year.

[gocgo]

I think they meant 18 and 1000. Though, that also may be a little high.

I'd say less than 1000.

But the bobblehead tributes to Spam were awesome!

It tells me what kind of day I'm having when I was disappointed that these weren't actually made of Spam.

[LaBombo]

It seems absurdly cruel to me that arguably that the most promising season for a young Twins player belongs to a kid who is blocked from his best position by the Twins player who is inarguably its most valuable.

[Mike Sixel]

Dick just got done saying Buxton has been putting the ball in the air too much. Then he says, look, he hits it on the ground, gets a base hit.

Yeah, that verifies your bias, Dick.

Serious misunderstanding of what modern information tells us....serious.

[S.]

I'd say less than 1000.

Yeah, I'm guessing the person keeping track of attendance numbers may also be a little bit high if they think there are 18,000 people there. I'm guessing most the people still watching the Twins also may be a little bit high. Or a lot bit.

We may be on different sides of that fence, but I agree completely with you.

Partial credit for Gladden?

[Platoon]

I am soon to face a difficult decision? Go get tabs for my pickup, or watch the end of this? One is an idiotic waste of life's precious days, and the other is the DMV.

[Platoon]

What's Dick talking about, we have been in games like this all year! As in behind in the 9th!

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

YES!

I lived to see that!!!!!!!'

[jimmer]

can't even do the easiest things.  he did that so nonchalant.  he needs to be gone.

Did he just throw a wild pitch on an intentional walk?

[Mike Sixel]

Did they just WP on an intentional ball?

edit: I want video!

And that ladies and gentleman is the season in a nutshell.

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

One more thing to work on in spring training next season!

[Winston Smith]

Twins pitching is only a little bad can't even walk a guy without screwing it up. Big sigh!

[Danchat]

I don't think Pat Light understands how to throw a strike.

EDIT: I think we'll be seeing Light in ESPN's not top 10 sports plays tomorrow.

he threw it as if he was tossing a scuffed ball to the catcher to give to the ump to remove from the game.

I saw it in a Legion game. Done by a D2 prospect, and let in the winning run in the bottom of the 7th.

[Platoon]

This makes Dicks comment at the beginning of the inning about seeing games like this next year, premature.

[gocgo]

My 13 year old can walk a guy intentionally without throwing it to the backstop.  Unbelievable!

[Platoon]

DMV, here I come!

Do you mean prophetic?

I imagine a lot of Twins games will be like this next year.

[Danchat]

According to MLB live, that home run should have not only been ball four, but it was also way below his knees.

my 10 year old daughter can do an intentional walk better than that.

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

I saw it in a Legion game. Done by a D2 prospect, and let in the winning run in the bottom of the 7th.

And then Rob Antony traded for him, Paul Molitor brought him into the game, and they all lived happily ever after.

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

This has become one of those innings that cannot ever be looked away from or forgotten.

[jimmer]

I like how Martinez got in the throwing path between Centeno and the pitcher on that, and then slowly hustled out of the way when it was too late in a 'my bad' sort of way.  As if it wasn't intentional.
