Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Is it the rain? The late hour? Being in last place? or Pokemon Go causing the empty seats at Target field.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 lightning strike and play continues. used to be automatic game stoppage. It only struck the Target Center... No need to panic.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Throw the tarp on and leave it til April.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Buxton simply not close in his last two at bats.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Throw the tarp on and leave it til April.Agree Although I was just talking about this. I think it would be suspended and replayed from this point--except if Cleveland scores and it's stopped, they would win!
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 The ump takes a moment record an entry in his diary. How sweet.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Not a great at bat by Buxton. Glorm!!! What do you say? Now you type: I don't know... pull that string and see if the arrow lands on me.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 I should have bid on being with the grounds crew for a night rolling out the tarp. That looks fun. Thoughts, Aggies?
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 If everyone got in their cars and drove real fast to Eau Claire. They could finish this thing.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 I believe a game can't end at a half inning if the home team is down.that's what we were wondering. I said that if it's an official game of 5.5 innings, and the score is not tied, it's over. Period. Regardless of anything else. But not exactly sure how it works in extras.

Thoughts, Aggies? It's about the least fun thing you could ever possibly do on a baseball field, aside from what the twins have done for 90 games this year. We averaged about 70 tarp pulls a year, and that was on a 72 game home schedule. It's awful. Taking the thing off is even less fun.

Dr. Evil Verified Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Not a great at bat by Buxton.Fun fact, last 22 games each has played, Mauer 2 RBI, Buxton 8 RBI.

Dr. Evil Verified Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Un-fun fact:Buxton's numbers with RISP this year: .075/.114/.100. Makes the past 22 games for Mauer seem even worse.
jimmer Verified Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Makes the past 22 games for Mauer seem even worse. If you say so. I'd have to know how many PAs he's had with RISP and what he actually did, myself. Wanna read something fun...another fun fact. The career passive Mauer has, for his career, hit .330/.456/.470 with RISP. Now, excluding the 135 IBB (which he has no control over, though I suppose he still could swing), he's walked less than 13% of the time with RISP.

Those were impressive stats.
jimmer Verified Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 I agree, he was once an outstanding hitter. Those were impressive stats. His slash line with RISP last year was extremely close to his career numbers with RISP (including the walk rate) 18 non-intentional walks with RISP in 161 PA.

He has had way more than 2 RBI's in the last 22 games and he is on pace for way more than 50 RBI's for the season. You win. He is a clutch. All he does is make a difference and never settles for a walk when he has a chance to make a meaningful impact. He is a top of the order hitter.
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 I hope they finish tonight. It looks like the rain is almost done. http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/target-field-mn/55403/weather-radar/53242_poi
