Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Life is tough sometimes. You need to compartmentalize some things. Baseball to me is fun, and it is sad when heroes fall because they skirted the rules, if they thirst for money and riches it really has no baring on our society for the most part. But when politicians are making deals to please the special interests and big industries, and not working for the people of this country's overall good, it is the biggest scam that ever existed. We deserve better than this bull**** and I am not sure we can stop it. It's apples and oranges really. Sure, if all that matters to you is the outcome, but not the process. Chris Colabello, either actively or through negligence, circumvented the well-established and well-known rules of his profession. Simply because "it's just a game" or "just for entertainment" doesn't make it ok on a personal level, and just as we would condemn that behavior in our politicians, we should condemn it in all people. Now, I don't think the punishment should be the same, because the impact, as you said, is apples and oranges. But morality and right and wrong shouldn't be based on the number of people hurt/affected.

Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Can someone with more experience help me out here--is it usually a good thing when the opposition bats around in the first inning?
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2016 Author Posted April 22, 2016 Not looking to start something here, but if I'm understanding your first 4 points correctly, you have no problem with cheating so long as it's done in the pursuit of a dream with sizable financial upside. So for example, you are all good with someone who's dream is to be President stuffing the ballot box in order to ensure election. Nah... I think it's a case of... I have so much integrity that I realize that I may not have as much integrity under similar circumstances. I'm not saying I would take PED's for 500 Grand a year/Minimum. But I will knock over that old lady who is in my way. Blake and formerly33 2

I don't have the time to waste on that anymore... I wish it were not true, but that is the case. I don't concern myself with the aforementioned baseball stuff, I greatly worry about the other things.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 So, Gibby...lets recap, shall we? A hit on an 0-2 pitch, a HBP on an 0-2 pitch, couple of walks, two RBI single to the 8 hitter...did I miss anything? glunn 1
