Span's defense has sucked a** lately but maybe he should be DH'ing today because he has been raking! Unless there's more to his day off than just "getting a day off"....

Twins have commented they will give DeVries one more start at least.

Because his 4.37 ERA is such an embarrasment that they would go back to Walters/Blackburn/Hendriks (whom I like)who havent pitched as well as Cole has so far. Last nite was the anomoly for Cole, but a good start for Blackburn.

One man's anomaly is another man's regression.

Too true. I'd be surprised if De Vries can keep an ERA under 5. However, Blackburn's start in the minors is interesting. His GB ratio over over 2:1. I don't understand how he can't get GB here, then he goes to Rochester and gets them at a 2:1 clip. Anyone want to bet he starts again this season?

We'll see Blackburn again. If not after a Liriano-type trade, then when rosters expand.

Here we go again -- Twins look like they will give up runs in top of 1st inning.

As has been said many times and many ways, taking Duensing out of the bullpen, where he was successful, and putting him back in the rotation, was and is idiotic.

Agreed. Yet they keep sending him out there hoping for a different result.

It's also embarrassing. As in it is embarrassing that this manager keeps doing this.

Oakland loaded up on righties to match up against him and here are two runs in the first inning.

I came here to post this point. That we turn an actual asset into a pile of poop is frustrating to say the least.

And we are lucky that it was not worse. Duensing got out of the inning with bases loaded.

Does anyone else think that Kelly droning on is not unlike listening to fingernails slowly scratching a blackboard?

I agree that Duensing is better in the bullpen. We all know that. But for what the Twins need now, I have no problem with them going with him. He's a given in the bullpen, but until the Twins have a much better rotation, it kind of is what it is. He hasn't been bad as a starter (obviously not a great 1st inning today).

Well put. And what he is saying is not interesting.

3 starts, 0-3. 11.1 IP. 7.15 ERA.

Yes, he's been very, very bad.

Another awesome start.

Brian has now allowed more runs than innings pitched as a starter.

I understand that, but as they were stretching him out, he was good for 3 innings. Then got hit. Then he was good for 4 innings and then got hit. Then he was doing OK when he got hit in the leg. He'll be back in the bullpen at some point, but I don't mind them having tried this again temporarilty.

Yeah, I was about to post those stats. And now it is gotten dramatically worse. Even Swarzak is a better starting option.

Six runs in the first two innings. At what point do the fans just stop showing up?
