Arcia/Hunter/Young outfield.

Love it.

You think Willingham's knees have healed up for a comeback? There would be no grass uncovered in the OF if that was the case.

Milone - 1.43 ERA in last seven starts. Second coming of Bob Gibson?

The Baltimore broadcast put up a graphic showing that only Drew Smyly has a longer current consecutive game streak of holding the opposition to 2 runs or less.  Smyly has 9 going to last season (on the DL since May 15).  Tommy "Living on the Edge"  Milone now sits at 7 straight since June 4.

I don't know if any normal outfield could contain all of that speed -- there would end up being some structural damage to the field or stadium.

The Cubs' broadcasters played it, a few times. Not all the way through, but there it was ... as if Minneapolis has no one famous other than MTM.

Although ... I did take a few moderators on a mini-tour of Mpls last August, and we drove by the house.

Was she home?

He should at least be recovered enough to be a late-inning defensive sub for Delmon...

You should put this in the 'Fun with Numbers 2015' thread!

Along with Tommy's 7 game streak.  The Twins have the best MLB starter since June 1?  Who would have thunk it?

Considering this was a day game, and many of you didn't have a televised version to watch ... great thread all!

Glen Perkins - All-Star closer.  I don't think many people would have been predicting this 5 (or 6 years ago - I am losing track of time).

People didn't know how smart Glenn Perkins is. He actually learned how to close from watching Joe Nathan, picking his brain for every detail, then actually putting it all into practice. See how Perk picks the four corners with quick fastballs, just like Nathan did? See how he mixes in the wipe out slider, like Nathan? Perkins practically became a left-handed clone of Joe Nathan's style. It's nothing like his style as a starter, when he would mix different pitches all over the place.

Even so, Perkins (again, like Nathan) realizes that his mid-90's heater won't be there forever, so I expect to start seeing him mixing in a change-up fairly soon, maybe within the next year. Wouldn't surprise me to hear that Perkins gets in touch with Trevor Hoffman for lessons on throwing a great change-up. Steal from the best.
