Game Thread: White Sox @ Twins, 6/24 @ 12:10pm CT

Christopher Allen Sale (6-3, 2.74 ERA) vs. Phillip Joseph Hughes (5-6, 4.47 ERA)

Things to think about...

1- Computers -- Yesterday I was just standing around, minding my own business, but all of a sudden I heard a conversation that caught my attention, and the subject of this conversation was about electronic devices, mainly computers and hand-crank radios. Well I won't repeat everything that was said, but a certain member of the TD community was talking to a ten year old boy, and she was telling him that her computer burned fuel quickly, and then she got him all confused about it, and before you knew what had happened, he was talking about computers' "engines." All I can say is that they were corrected, but I think they realized their error quickly.

2- Twitter -- I was just talking about computers, and a common thing associated with computers is the internet, and one of the most visited sites is Twitter. After the conversation above took a turn to Twitter, we got unto the interesting topic of, "What if Stalin had a Twitter account?" You might be wondering why we would talk about that, but just to let you guys know, we often ask each other thought provoking questions. I have been thinking about Stalin's Twitter account that wasn't, and I have an idea what it might be like. It would go like this:

Username

@TheGreatHelmsman

Bio

Great Master of Daring Revolutionary Decisions, Leader of Progressive Humanity, Transformer of Nature, Driver of the Locomotive of History, Best Friend of all Children

Normal Tweets

"@jvribbentrop I didn't brush my teeth today. #dailyroutine"

"Gratitude is a sickness suffered by dogs"

"Just approved 3167 murders, then watched The Merry Fellows, had a great time!"

He would also sign an executive order commanding that every Soviet had to clap for five minutes straight every time he tweeted.

3- Eduardo Nunez -- King Eddie the 2nd was once considered Derek Jeter 2.0, but what many called "lackadaisical play" hurt him in his time in Noo Yoik, but now that he has gotten out of the Apple on Steroids he has performed so well that if he was on the Royals he would be leading the DH spot in the ASG vote, but he isn't on the Royals, so he isn't leading any position, whether it is DH, outfield, third, or short in voting, but that is a good thing, because if he was on the Royals there would be only one thing to do, go through his clothes and look for loose change since the Royals are dead.

4- Modems -- Recently we got a new modem, it was advertised as making the internet an 80 runner, of course I didn't believe it, but we needed one out of necessity since we can't go by a day with out hanging out reading good for nothing, obnoxious comments on websites, which is now the new national pastime, but for me, it's still baseball, although I enjoy listening to classical music and reading, but anyways this modem turned out to be so fast that it is actually slow, so my guess is that it is running so fast that it is tripping over itself, therefore making it harder to do it's job.

5- Tchaikovsky Competition -- I hate to keep pounding this into you, but I can't help it, I have selective OCD, and this is one of the things I selected to have OCD over, just to let you know I haven't finished watching all of the contestants, but my favorites so far are Leonard Elschenbroich, Anastasia Kobekina, Bruno Phillipe, and Pablo Ferrández-Castro. One other note, Elschenbroich is going to perform with the Minnesota Orchestra next year.

I think I might have bored some of my readers with my prattling, but I was pinch-hitting.

If Sale retires every batter for the rest of the game, should he be credited with a perfect game?

That was inside, ump. Stick a fork in all the umpires...

I think a fork is too partial for umpires.

This calls for impartiality. Which means a spork.

I think i figured out why they ruled that an error too...

(And that's why it's an error, for the nose.)

Nah, only if they like using astrics, like the fellow who relieved Ruth after he walked a fella and got tossed, if i remember the story.

Hunter brings in Dozier with another double to tie the game.

Hope springs anew...

Of course this happens when I have left the radio for a few minutes.  But, I'll take it anyway.
