LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Watching the game with my kid, who is watching intently tonight because Grandma and Grandpa are at the game not far from the visitors' dugout. She understands some of the basics of the game, and we try to learn something new whenever we watch together. Early on, when Milone was struggling a bit, she started singing "Tommy Maloney, full of baloney!" out of nowhere. On a hunch, asked her which one is the pitcher, and she said "He's the one hitting all the bats".So maybe she's learned more than I've given her credit for.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Yep. He has been evicted from ModCon14. :$(&:)/);$/$;>|>{^€RiverBartman.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 It's even more disturbing if you see the game reflected on a window or mirror, thus taking away the only remaining difference between the two.
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Nothing like a fan who has no semblance of an idea of his surroundings. They should have a PSA for all people sitting in the front row of all ground-level sections to educate them that an $8 baseball is not that important unless the VISITING team is trying to make a catch!! And I think we should all audition to be a Twins center fielder. Only requirement is to run really really fast to the wall and plant yourself Spidey-like as the ball bounces around the warning track.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 It wasnt me... I was already evicted before it happened. For running on the field and telling Escobar to knock it off.

LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Is there a scholarship available, CD?
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Is there a scholarship available, CD? No, but there are $8 million per year contracts available....$10 million if she's lefthanded.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Another nail biter following a 5 run lead. At least the late innings are meaningful.
GCTF Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Someone needs to give Gladden a jamshot right in his voicebox.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 She's a rightie, but with a deceptive delivery that's difficult to pick up. Of course that probably has less to do with her mechanics than it does with her release point, which is often beside or behind me.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 At least the late innings are meaningful.I believe that was Dave St Peter's stated goal all along
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Today in ice cream news, the Dairy Queen on 49th and Lyndale won't have logs or cakes til tomorrow at the earliest
big dog Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 That was an incredible turn by Dozier on that double play. Holy crap. I guess at 6-1 that double play isn't nearly as exciting. Good thing we gave up 4 more and made it interesting!
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Thank God Martinez is so slow that he'd finish 3rd in a race with a pregnant woman. And an errorless inning out of Escobar!!
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 I sincerely doubt whether the late innings will be meaningful. Don't see many double plays like that one!
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Ugh. The Twins are preparing to blow another 5 run lead...
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 With all the doubles Esco has hit, it would be ironic if he got another hit, but didn't cycle for lack of a double.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Ugh. The Twins are preparing to blow another 5 run lead...Hold the phone, Mauer still needs to get a bases clearing double
big dog Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Brad Ausmus must think he's Terry Francona with all this bullpen activity. I wonder if the Tigers are planning to send down 3 relievers tonight and replace them with AAA guys. Very, very relieved to have Dozier knock in a run there. Boy, how often do you see a guy make a great play to end an inning, then come up the next inning with the bases loaded? No wait, that's not how that goes. Never mind.
GCTF Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Hold the phone, Mauer still needs to get a bases clearing doubleClose enough.
big dog Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Hold the phone, Mauer still needs to get a bases clearing doubleOK, two-run single, I'll take that.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 I thought of a way to speed up the game: a pitcher who starts an inning must finish an inning.
GCTF Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 I thought of a way to speed up the game: a pitcher who starts an inning must finish an inning.Wouldn't help much if I was pitching.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Feels good to wail on the Tigers
