Who is next to be Traded?

Since the Twins have already made one move, I figured we could have a similar thread to Vodka Dave's guess the record for the next 14 games threads. Except that this would be, "Who is next to be traded?"

Personally I think that the Hammer is the next to be traded.

How about the rest of Twins Daily community?

I think Kurt Suzuki is the next to go, as he has the most value and someone will want him by July 31st. Willingham and Correia might not go until August.

This makes the most sense, Suzuki would most likely be blocked after Aug 1st imo.

Suzuki is the obvoius name, so I'm going to have fun and say Eduardo Nunez, to Toronto, for pitcher Matt Boyd.

With the candlestick.

In the conservatory?

Hammer

Uh oh...what does that mean for you? Are we going to lose an All Star poster to another teams boards? Or will you change your moniker or will you refuse to accept the loss of Willingham and type through the pain and tears?

My vote is either Kevin Suzuki or Josh Duensing.

I think Suzuki goes before the deadline. I think Hammer goes in August as I somehow doubt that the Twins will get anything worthwhile for him. They'll roll the dice that he heats up as A ball utility player isn't what they want. KC, I don't know. He'd likely clear waivers, but the question at hand is whether there's a contender doing the PJ Walters, Pedro Hernandez rolodex callup for their 5th spot. They would likely give us something for KC, but I wouldn't expect it to be much. I wouldn't be shocked if Duensing or Fein got sent packing yet. Some team is typically looking for a reliever and will pay a higher ceiling/high risk A ball guy or maybe even a bit more for Fein. The Twins have serveral relievers in AAA deserving MLB time as well, so it would alleviate some other issues.

My thoughts exactly.

If the Twins wait until August and try to pass Correia through waivers but he gets claimed by a blocking club that won't offer a thing, do they have the constitution to just let him go for the betterment of the developing young pitchers?

I think they go big. Correia, Willingham, Suzuki and at least one bullpen arm (likely Duensing) go before August 1. Not sure of the order. Burton goes in August. Keep Fien.

I don't share the optimism that Willingham and Correia would clear waivers. Their contracts are small enough.

I'll second the notion that Willingham and/or Correia wouldn't clear waivers. Remember, an oft injured and underperforming Willingham was claimed on waivers last year by the Orioles. His value is certianly a BIT higher than last year. A team looking for a bat (or relatively cheap back end starter) would likely claim them.

I hope Suzuki is the next to go. I really like the guy, but I fear the Twins are going to extend him and pay a premium for the privilege. Willingham, Correia should follow shortly thereafter.

Longer odds, but I could see Fien or Duensing being in a deadline deal as well.

Go to another board? No, when the time comes I'll drown my sorrows in a bucket of ice cream and spam TD with half asleep non-rhyming couplets in tribute to the greatest Twins hitter of the past 3 years. I'll swap in a new avatar but keep the moniker, both in Hammer's memory and because I have to.

I say Willihammer will start a blog entitled "Hammer was framed"

Suzuki or Duensing. Either one has value and both may be gone by the deadline. Hammer is also a possibility, only because someone will probably claim him in August to stop him from helping another team.

Burton or Fien are more likely August deals based on injuries to contenders pitching staffs.

No worries, reports are he injured an ankle tripping over an outfield chalk line. Not going anywhere at this time.

Dont believe Nunez is going anywhere. He's young, has some potential and versatility with a decent bat. Were he traded, you'd get another Sulburan type player back, and I don't think you've gained anything of value.

I read where Colonel Mustard, newly hired VP assistant to the VP of marketing's assistant...recently hired to bring in new blood...and not the red stuff on the wrench...says the Twins like Nunez and consider him a real gamer.

Apparently Nunez is a little concerned because he now has the corner locker that once belonged to Jason Kubel and then to Kendrys Morales.

I also think Suzuki is next. I have the feeling that the recent reports of an extension not being close, though it may be early in the process, may expedite a trade. I'm still in favor 2 years if the money doesn't exceed 5 and maybe even 6 per. And maybe it's just the speculation on here creating the illusion of talks and demand, but I'm begining to think a trade is happening soon.

I still have serious questions about the value in return for Hammer and KC, but I also don't see them passing through waivers. They have just enough value that some team will attempt to either snag or block them. While the return may not be much, I think if the Twins want to control the return, they need to make a move before the deadline.

I still think Duensing stays. He has some actual, real value, but that value, IMO, is greater to the Twins going forward the next year or two, than what a return may yield. I do think Burton, experienced veteran with 1 great year, 1 good year, and pretty good lately, has enough value to move for a little something more than a bag of balls and a bucket of bubblegum. But I think he could be moved after the deadline.

With Santana back, Hicks, gulp, a possible recall since he's already amidst options for this season, and Parmelee available as an emergency CF, double gulp, does Fuld have any trade value?

Just asking.

Does that mean he has to begin a fast food diet and walk with a limp now?

He was picked up for free on the waiver wire a couple of months ago. I would say no.
