twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Well, I predicted the Twins would score 24 runs in the series, so I guess that means the Twins will score 13 today. Unless the wind is truly blowing in, Hughes may give up a couple of long balls. The Rockies are a really good offense and they have almost all of their pieces in place, except for Cuddy. I am going to say, Twins win 13-7. Ok, I'm impressed , but can you juggle?
gil4 Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Hey 13 runs! I'm a genious. Misspelled on purpose to show that I am not. Now let's see if the Rockies' pitching can keep it there. (One out to go, but no guarantees.)

Kudos for getting a call right with a number that seemed not only borderline absurd, but also with the whole unlucky stigma thing attached. I trust that if the Twins give up two in the 9th, you'll be on the next plane to Vegas, or maybe gassing up the Buick Roadmaster for a long road trip. http://www.imcdb.org/i001934.jpg

Plan accordingly. Also, preliminary research shows that your Twins run tally bingo and overall score call turning out that way is almost as improbable as the NBA draft lottery actually turning out to be random after all.

LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Hey, I'm taller than both those guys, but then almost everyone is. Saw Hoffman recently. The only remaining differences between him and Yoda at this point are pretty much just skin color, hair density, and force ability.

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 I don't think i can complain about a 5-2 road trip leading into the all-star break. Considering how there were comments regarding the difficulty of the Twins' first half schedule, may i propose a "surgical tubing" version of the rubber band theory? Or do i have to wait to hear how the rotation turns out?

LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 I spy, with my little eye, Ayn Rand came off a lot more feminine after she lost the tie... Also, you already knew this, but we didn't: "Conrad, like his fellow candidates, underwent several days of what they considered to be invasive, demeaning, and unnecessary medical and psychological testing at the Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute in New Mexico. Unlike his fellow candidates, Conrad rebelled against the regimen. During a Rorschach inkblot test, he told the psychiatrist that one blot card revealed a sexual encounter complete with lurid detail. When shown a blank card, he turned it around, pushed it back and replied "It's upside down".[8] Then when he was asked to deliver a stool sample to the onsite lab, he placed it in a gift box and tied a red ribbon around it. Eventually, he decided that he had had enough. After dropping his full enema bag on the desk of the clinic’s commanding officer, he walked out.[9] His initial application to NASA was denied with the notation not suitable for long-duration flight." In other words, a posthumous TD Hall of Famer, among other things. Great link to the Winton article, btw.

The photo, of course, is of Joseph Banks Rhine. A spaceman of a very different kind.
