stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 I've seen one game at Coors. Jake Peavey threw a shutout. I believe it was the first time the Rockies were shut out in over 100 games at home.

JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Every position player on the Twins has a hit. Looks like they are going to have to rinse and repeat more than once to win this one.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Common Hughes... Now would be a great time to make sure everyone in the lineup has a hit today.
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 We now have zero pitchers with an ERA below 3.90 (which is roughly league average), and the 2nd worse starters ERA in baseball.Good thing Suzuki "handles" the pitching staff so great.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Uffda. Would've been close, but I think they turn that sans the bobble.

Is pitching that much improved that league average is 3.9?
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 If playing the outfielders so deep is causing so many problems...maybe not play them so deep? It's not like they're cutting off anything anyway.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 I agree with your sentiment Mr. Brooks. I hope all the conversation praising Suzuki is just spin.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 And Vargas strikes out in his first PA in the Futures Game. Looking forward to seeing Berrios pitch.
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Is pitching that much improved that league average is 3.9? Roughly. It was like 3.93 a couple weeks ago, havent checked it today. EDIT: That is MLB average, not league average.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Is pitching that much improved that league average is 3.9?Yes! Next to the 60s until the mound was lowered, this is the most pitcher-dominant era that I can recall.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Is pitching that much improved that league average is 3.9? AL average 3.94 at the moment, but starter ERA is 4.07. Twins still stink in that context, with a rotation ERA of 4.82, and they're still the worst in baseball in starter K's, trailing the next-lowest AL team by nearly 60.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Hey, they found a shirt that fits Morales!
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Man, Roy and Dick can do a song and dance to sell this team.
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Germany just scored in the World Cup.

JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Berrios was really impressive. I hadn't seen him. Looked so composed. Had some heat and could really move the ball around.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Not a Gold Glove day for Escobar.I like Escobar, but as a utility guy. I don't think he'll hold up as an everyday shortstop.
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/82896484/v34463741/live-xm-allstar-futures-game futures game Lots of empty seats at the Futures game.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Man, Roy and Dick can do a song and dance to sell this team. After 3 90-something-loss seasons, it's almost become an unconscious reflex for Dick to alternate between silver linings and odd tangents to draw attention away from the product on the field. But it beats going full Chernobyl on the team like Harrelson has with the Sox. Thinking Blackmon is the best player I hadn't heard of before the Twins played his team.
Twins Twerp Provisional Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Two things, probably out and how big is Kendrys arm. They just kept replaying it and all I could think was...JC is that guy ripped.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 This is one of those games with everything. Good grief.
