I had my grand kids here for the last 3 days-didn't see any games, played with them, took them swimming, shot some fireworks, and today was finally looking forward to watching the Twins-yuk!

I predict this is going to be a short game thread as people are going to find other things to do.

 

I am just going to blame this on RB for ditching his game thread duties. No other logical reason to foresee this happening.

I was on board with the Nolasco signing. And he is still only 1/8 the way through the contract, but geez, what a disappointing start.

How many games has Nolasco has where he didn't give up a run early?

 

I'll answer my own question, in his 18 outings only 3 times has he given up his first run in the 4th or later:

 

1) 2nd inning, 2 runs

2) 2nd inning, 2 runs

3) 5th inning, 1 run

4) 3rd inning, 2 runs

5) 2nd inning, 3 runs

6) 4th inning, 1 run

7) 3rd inning, 2 runs

8) 1st inning, 1 run

9) 4th inning, 1 run

10) 1st inning 2 runs

11) 3rd inning, 1 run

12) 2nd inning, 1 run

13) 1st inning, 3 runs

14) 1st inning, 1 run

15) 2nd inning, 2 runs

16) 1st inning, 2 runs

17) 2nd inning, 1 run

18) 1st inning, 2 runs

 

That's at least 1 run in the first in 6 out of the last 11 games, and at least 1 run in the 1st or 2nd in 9 of 11.

 

Why didn't we sign Kazmir instead of Nolasco and why did we give him a four year deal instead of Hughes?
