ashbury Verified Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Gibby carving people up Pitch count's high though. Sixth inning is not being kind to him.
Tibs Verified Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Our offense really needs to pick it up
Kirby_waved_at_me Verified Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 heart of the order coming up - now's the time . . .
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Our offense really needs to pick it up True enough but Boston has only scored a whopping 3 runs this series as well, seen some good pitching all around.
big dog Verified Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Time for Mauer to sit down for a game. This is getting ridiculous. I'm a huge fan, but no one in their right mind can think he's unlucky. Or battling his tail off. It's bad.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 heart of the order coming up - now's the time . . . Did not go according to plan.

Kirby_waved_at_me Verified Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 It's not quite Willie Mays falling down in the outfield in his Mets uniform, but the season Mauer is having is really depressing to witness.

I'm not sure what 1 game will do, unless you're thinking he's dogging it somehow and needs an attitude readjustment. Maybe a 15-day DL stint - Doctor Ashbury is diagnosing bilateral cerebral cortex weakness, carrying over from last season's concussion.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Gibson up over 100 pitches 2nd straight game, Bert would be pleased.

Kirby_waved_at_me Verified Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Thank goodness for the pitcher's best friend. Now, a rally!
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 DP bails out Mauer.................impressive performance by Gibson, very encouraging.

I was hoping a game (or two or three) off would just give him a mental break- he's clearly fighting himself. A DL stint would be fine with me, though I would have to turn off the internet to avoid blowing up at all the "Mauer's soft" diatribes. The guy has a problem, no question about it, and it's probably concussion related.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Concur. Noooooo! Don't take away my Like!
glunn Community Moderator Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 It looks like Parm has all of the Twins' hits today. Hopefully he can start something here.
Kirby_waved_at_me Verified Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 3/5ths of the rotation is performing lights out right now - if only the bats would wake up, the Twins could be a few more games up in the standings.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 7 pitch inningWell it was the 7th inning, makes sense.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 I wish someone would've let Lackey know he's a "decline phase" player.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 According to Jerry Remy, someone named Naver is playing left field.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 I wish someone would've let Lackey know he's a "decline phase" player. I'd let him know if I could.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Nice hit for Escobar down the line. Only he got gunned down at second... Is that due in part to a shallow left fielder because of the Monster? (As well as a superb throw, of course) Seeing where it was hit, i kinda thought it was shoe-in for a double...
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 I wish someone would've let Lackey know he's a "decline phase" player. If someone would inform the Twins' batters, they could relay the message to him.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 I wish someone would've let Lackey know he's a "decline phase" player. Given where he was at three years ago someone might want to check if he's actually a zombie.
