Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Dozier... Yes... That was big Ummm... And I still standby my 2 for 35 comment and Dozier needing a day off.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 I'll feel better about this if we can get Hicksie in.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 I remember him hitting a game winning homer off Rivera maybe 4-5 years ago...maybe even a grand slam? But that was clearly a different KubelYup. After Rivera had issued a walk or two. And I remember Rivera saying he wasn't as upset about the GS as he was the walks.
longstrangetrip Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 That's the one. Couldn't remember how many runs. I was with my sons and father-in-law moving my daughter into her apartment in Hamilton, NY after her college graduation, and we celebrated Kubel's game winner with a beer break...nice memory!

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Okay, I was satellite-less. How did the Twins get the 2nd run? 2nd run of the game or the inning? Game: Willingham sent the first pitch he saw to lead off the 9th over the left field wall. Inning: Suzuki and Hicks walked (Kubel and Escobar K'd) and Dozier doubled to left. (They intentionally walked Mauer, so bases are loaded)
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 Okay, I want Nunez to make the Yankees sorry they got rid of him.
Beezer07 Provisional Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Just like Mauer to walk and leave the RBI chance up to someone else.
glunn Community Moderator Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 I love insurance runs, especially when a former Yankee provides them.
Beezer07 Provisional Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Let Hughes get back out there and get the CG!!!!
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 It's really hard to watch former Yankees beat the hell out of the Yankees in Yankee Stadium. Yep. A real cryin' shame.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Nice... We just had to wait for the ninth
longstrangetrip Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Did you aver think you would see the day when walking Mauer to get to Nunez would be a stupid strategic move?
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 I heard Mr. Chief's mother say that once. That's my favorite so far.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Nunez' double to right plates two more. (Some witty comment about breaking the yankees' dam... When it rains, it pours.)
longstrangetrip Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Let Hughes get back out there and get the CG!!!! Bert?
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 Time for an Arcia major bomb
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 It's really hard to watch former Yankees beat the hell out of the Yankees in Yankee Stadium. Yep. A real cryin' shame. Maybe we keep Nunez long-term?.....as a post-season Yankee-killing specialist....
Beezer07 Provisional Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 I remember Thornton being a lot....rounder...is this the same guy?
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Bert?Come to think of it...Bert's not on the Broadcast today. Anyone ever seen Bert and this "Beezer07" fellow together? Anyone?
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 I'll take that even though it wasn't a bomb!!
snepp Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Maybe we keep Nunez long-term?.....as a post-season Yankee-killing specialist.... Can Hughes start multiple games on one day of rest?
Tibs Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Lololololololololololololololololol. This is really fun.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 If Dave was at the game today, he must've left early.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 I really hope that Spirit of Vodka Dave is using his alter ego to be at Yankee Stadium today ... I want him to see a Twins win.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 A late six run rally! And not even ONE wild pitch!
