longstrangetrip Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Anybody else see that foul for Kubes as a moral victory?
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 But... but... the game isn't over. And it's a rubber game... (Please forgive me if i'm in denial...)You are not forgiven ... you are high-fived! ^5s
Beezer07 Provisional Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Why change your mind about Pinto PHing for Kubel just because it's tied? Is getting a lead not important?
pierre75275 Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Yeah buddy! Way to go Josh! There goes Hughes complete game. But thats okay.
kydoty Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Side note: Jason Kubel is a broken man.
snepp Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 "Uncle," heard muttered by Kubel as he walked back to the dugout.
longstrangetrip Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Side note: Jason Kubel is a broken man. It's really kind of sad. He's taken two 3rd strike fastballs right down the middle
Beezer07 Provisional Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Has Kubel reached his roster bonus yet? Can he be cut mid-game?
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 I'm actually jealous, jb. Living in LA, I really miss a good thunderstorm. God, I wish it would rain! I LOVE thunderstorms ... but so far we had thunder and lightning but appear to be in a dry slot (we're near drought conditions) but finally ... glorious rain. It would be lovely if it rained all night.
longstrangetrip Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 "Uncle," heard muttered by Kubel as he walked back to the dugout. And by a chorus of Twins fans. This has to be Jason's final game doesn't it?
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Has Kubel reached his roster bonus yet? Can he be cut mid-game?Yes, but the Yankees offered to pay the roster bonus to keep him around.
Beezer07 Provisional Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Yes, but the Yankees offered to pay the roster bonus to keep him around. Sneaky. That Brian Cashman knows his stuff
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Sneaky. That Brian Cashman knows his stuffRandom thought...is it coincidence the Yankee GM is named CASHman? Discuss between innings.
longstrangetrip Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 This Yankee bullpen is terrific. Hats off to Willy for tying this one up!
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Hicks is going deep here. edit: deep into the count.
longstrangetrip Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Hicks is going deep here. Beautiful dreamer, la la la la
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Didn't Kubel once hit a 2 run HR to win a game against the Yankees (although at Target Field)? I'm sure Ronny G's memories are sharper than mine and that was the basis for his roster move.
pierre75275 Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 I need somebody who is smarter at baseball then me to explain to me the purpose of Kubel walking up to the plate and doing exactly what everybody knew he was going to do while the man second on the team in dingers watches helplessly as Kubal k's helplessly. Does anybody really believe that it will be Hicks sent down when Fuld comes back and not Kubal released?
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Kubel doesn't look good right now... However... Like I mentioned in the set up... Brian Dozier is now 0-17 and 2-35. Slumps can can be deep and they can be broken out of. I just don't like the idea of playing through them while you sit someone who could heat up.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Okay, I was satellite-less. How did the Twins get the 2nd run?
snepp Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Okay, I was satellite-less. How did the Twins get the 2nd run? Hammer Time!

But that was clearly a different Kubel
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Just saw that Willy had a solo HR. Nice to see him productive since his return.

kydoty Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Awesome! Hughes deserves a chance to win this game!
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 I just don't like the idea of playing through them while you sit someone who could heat up. I heard Mr. Chief's mother say that once.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Hope Perkins is sharp today. Nice way for Dozier to break a slump.
