I remember him hitting a game winning homer off Rivera maybe 4-5 years ago...maybe even a grand slam? But that was clearly a different Kubel

Yup. After Rivera had issued a walk or two. And I remember Rivera saying he wasn't as upset about the GS as he was the walks.

That's the one. Couldn't remember how many runs.

 

I was with my sons and father-in-law moving my daughter into her apartment in Hamilton, NY after her college graduation, and we celebrated Kubel's game winner with a beer break...nice memory!

Okay, I was satellite-less.

 

How did the Twins get the 2nd run?

 

2nd run of the game or the inning?

 

Game: Willingham sent the first pitch he saw to lead off the 9th over the left field wall.

 

Inning: Suzuki and Hicks walked (Kubel and Escobar K'd) and Dozier doubled to left.

 

(They intentionally walked Mauer, so bases are loaded)

It's really hard to watch former Yankees beat the hell out of the Yankees in Yankee Stadium.

 

Yep. A real cryin' shame.

 

Maybe we keep Nunez long-term?.....as a post-season Yankee-killing specialist....
