Nice job by Gibson so far. Way to many balls called, but now the strikes are taking the lead. Must be a tight zone today.

My impression is the HP ump has had a very fair, consistent, and slightly tight zone today.

Wonder if the broadcast team has a stat regarding how long it will have taken Gardy to get wins 901-1000 relative to other guys who've done it. Interesting that he and Kelly represent 20% of the guys who've won 1000 with the same team.

That's what I was thinking. Gibson has thrown enough strikes but I would say he has been effectively wild. Too many pitches seem to get away from him. He hasn't had great command so I think he isn't getting the borderline calls.

Official scoring and pitchers not allowed to throw over 100 pitches are my two major pet peeves about baseball (even moreso than expansion, interleague play, and wildcards... although one game play ins has got to be the most ridiculous concept ever).
