Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 5, 2014 Author Posted April 5, 2014 Then he'd be underdressed. ba-dum-tssshhh hahahaha ... okay ... just not gonna say it.
BigTrane Provisional Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Nice that Gardy got 1K vs. Indians after the er, indescribable end of the season last year.Listening to the radio feed, and the 1-club, 1K achievement is special... don't think we'll see much more of that in the future. A moment to savor.

cmathewson Provisional Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 http://i.imgur.com/3otWIFS.jpg?1 Finally! Let's not get ahead of ourselves. 1000 wins is one thing, but 10,000?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Is every game going to be an adventure???Don't worry, they'll mix in a fairly routine blowout loss now and then...
BigTrane Provisional Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Also nice to see my man Dozier set the tone with that pop. Great game for him, and Collobello is on fire. Pinto does good, Kube does good, and Mauer seems to be finding his stroke. Too early to say, of course, but- there is some offense in this team. Liking that big time.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Let's not get ahead of ourselves. 1000 wins is one thing, but 10,000? Non Believer!!! By the end of his current contract!!! Book it!!!
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Florimon now batting .082, implying that at some point this past week, at least one pitched ball somehow struck his bat and ended up in play. Didn't see it, can't picture it. On the other hand, other people I expected to struggle have looked pretty good.
BigTrane Provisional Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Non Believer!!! By the end of his current contract!!! Book it!!! At least a 50/50 shot at this point, imo... bringing in Molly speaks volumes. Still, give the guy his due. He's in the record books, esp. W/L for Twins managers. Big Train got 350, Bucky Harris got 429, and Sam Mele 522. There is only one other mgr. w/1K+ wins- TK. This is not a small thing- especially in the present era .

This is not a small thing- especially in the present era .He and Kelly are two of only ten managers who have a thousand wins with the same team. They are also not coincidentally two of only four non-expansion managers since WWII to have three consecutive ninety loss seasons and retain their jobs. At any rate, congratulations to Gardenhire, and to the players for discarding what earlier in the week appeared to be a plan to save the thousandth win until the home opener.
deanlambrecht Verified Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Mike Berardino @MikeBerardino 42m Arcia sitting with right wrist issue. Doctor to examine today. Same spot as last year, he said. #mntwins New rule: before you grouse about who is on the bench, take a look at press reports to determine why that player might be on the bench. It's been known since early morning that Arcia was injured and would be sitting out. /annoyed by a dozen totally irrelevant posts about why someone who is injured is on the bench. /end cranky rant
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Let's not get ahead of ourselves. 1000 wins is one thing, but 10,000?"Right, 1000. What did I say?"
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Let's see, Suzuki gets three starts and is 0-3. Pinto has two starts and is 2-0. I know, I know, but just sayin'.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Atta way Gardy!! Only 73 more and you might have a shot a 1100.
