Hi all, Our family trip continues. On Friday night we watched Mark Buehrle shut out the Twins at Rogers Centre. The highlight? Justin Morneau once again came and signed for my 10 year old son. I've got an old 2006 "Team Canada" Morneau jersey that always seems to bring him over for a visit. Lots of stories shared over the first base line over the years, and someday I'll blog about him. I asked if he's coming back next year, and he beamed, "I hope so." He signed a few more autographs, and then

The Twins are doing better than expected in 2013, but after a five game losing streak they find themselves 36-46 and 9 games out of first place. They hung in there for quite a while this year and that is commendable as even though nobody with the Twins was willing to admit it 2013 was always going to be a rebuilding year. The Twins classically overachieved over the first three months and it left Twins fans wondering can this team be last years Baltimore and just shock everyone. After the last
I will have a more in depth top 20 prospect look during the all star break, but I wanted to give you guys the initial top 20 look with a sentence about each prospect. I hope you will give me feedback on what you think of my selections and who you think I may have left out or what you think. You can either leave me a comment here or email me attexastwinsfan@gmail.com. 1 Byron Buxton- top prospect in all of baseball who can do it all and got promotion up to Fort Myers could
As you know, I have been in Cedar Rapids for their past two games against Wisconsin. They won on Thursday, but they fell 8-7 on Friday. This is a first. Following the game, my brother played cameraman, and we decided to record the minor league report. This is, essentially, a video version of what you would typically read. Let us know what you think. I'd also like to thank everyone involved with the Kernels, from GM Dog Nelson, to the coaching staff and the players, for being great to talk to.
Originally published at The state of the Twins at mid-season | Twinstrivia.com The Twins left Minnesota and the country yesterday with their tails between their legs after losing their fifth straight game and four in a row to those hated New York Yankees. The Yankees were slumping when they limped in to town but that didn't stop this bunch of misfits and cast-offs from kicking some serious Twins butts here in Minnesota. I have seen better visiting Yankee teams at Ft. Myers in spring traini
Cedar Rapids Kernels hitting coach Tommy Watkins knows his way around a minor league field, having spent parts of 11 seasons as a player in the Minnesota Twins minor league system. Toward the end of the 2007 season, he got to live the dream of every player who ever put on a minor league uniform when he was called up to the Big Leagues by the Twins. http://knuckleballsblog.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/WatkinsHarrison.jpg Tommy Watkins hitting ground balls to third baseman Travis Harrison
There's a fuller write up "recapping" the last week plus in Twins Territory at our main blog, but here are a few key samplings from each series Game 76 Marlins 5 - Twins 3 The Twins have a good deal of early success against Miami's starter in the first inning, they run into trouble against Kevin "Killthrow" Slowey, who savored the opportunity to best the team that let him go. Elsewhere "Dr. Cakeburn"Nick Blackburn, and Boof Bonser plotted their revenges as part of the Legion of Pitching Doom.
Due to a family situation, I have not been able to publish Twins birthday biographies. I hope to be back doing so Monday or Tuesday. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Originally posted at Kevin Slowey was Framed! Holiday Mailbag? Holiday Mailbag. I hope everyone had a fun and leisurely 4th. I kept it cool, just hanging out in my house and laying low. I watched the Twins game yesterday and I was saddened by Kyle Gibson's performance. I think he'll bounce back, but seeing him struggle was a good reminder that he is a rookie and there will be growing pains. Enough analysis, I'm here to answer questions from myself. Carlos Gomez is currently among the
Thank Goodness I married a woman who loves/tolerates baseball! Here's the agenda: July 3: AAA Rochester at Buffalo Bisons July 5: Twins at Blue Jays July 7: Pawtucket at Rochester July 10: AA East/West All-Star Game, New Britain, CT July 11: Trenton at New Britain July 12: Twins at Yankees July 13: Mets at Pirates July 15: Home. Plenty of stuff for the family to do, and two Frank Lloyd Wright tours (Buffalo, NY, and Fallingwater, PA) to keep the wife happy. I'll blog on the games, or rep
Cedar Rapids Kernels middle infielder Niko Goodrum was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the second round of the 2010 First Year Player Draft and spent the past two years playing for the Twins short season rookie league team in Elizabethton. http://knuckleballsblog.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Goodrum1.jpg Niko Goodrum The 21 year old switch-hitter from Georgia got off to a good start with the Kernels, most often batting second in Manager Jake Mauer’s batting order, behind lead
With the end of July getting closer and closer each day it brings forth the question; are the Twins buyers or sellers? Well from a fan’s perspective you always want your team to be buyers rather than sellers. (C’mon who wants to see their favorite player get traded). But there is a very good chance that the Twins will be sellers this year. And for that their are many possibilities for the Twins. So many that I will not be covering them all, and someone else will most likely do so on this website
Many of the Twins minor league affiliates celebrated Independence Day early with offensive explosions. The Red Wings and the Miracle had men up and down their line-ups knock in runs to help their clubs to come out victorious. There were a few minor league news and notes that took place on Wednesday afternoon. Catcher Danny Lehmann was released by the club after spending time on the disable list this season. He had only played 18 games this season and he was a career .229/.317/.301 hitter.
Any update on any of these 3? I am starting to get worried about Bard especially. In over a year as a professional he has thrown 7 innings. I hope that Wimmers can follow the Gibson recovery plan and can get back on the mound for a hand full of starts this year and then go to the AZL.
I am not a follower of Donald Trump. I have participated in several no kings rallies and am disgusted with what he and his followers have done to our country and the world. I would like to know what most Brazilians feel about the United States now and about the folks our citizens have elected to represent us.
