  1. See he is on the 40-man roster. Does that confirm he is the leading candidate to back up Jeffers? In a related question, any information on who will be removed from the 40-man as they are now at 41? And how will player X be removed?
  2. Agree with much of what you are saying, mike. Although you threw me a curve when talking about your four outfielders. Kept thinking the Twins don't have an outfielder with a last name of Walker. Assume you mean Jenkins? My disagreement stems from so many of you claiming that Roden is mediocre or worse. If you look at his minor league stats and claim he is mediocre, then all three of the kids you would like to see are also likely to be mediocre. Let's not throw him under the bus after what, 100 big league at bats with a trade in the middle of them.
  3. Should be an interesting day over at Target Field. Personally, I believe Larnach has value. Although I would be shocked if he is on their opening day roster, I remain hopeful that they keep him today so they can trade him over the next few months. Would love seeing Larnach moved for a solid reliever with a few years experience, even if the Twins need to add a prospect to get the right guy. As for opening a spot on the roster so they can make a Rule 5 pick, there are several others that could be waived. Top of my list is Julien. Unlike you, the player we saw the last two years is the player he is and to me that has zero value.
  4. I was looking at this a bit different. Would replace Keaschall with Larnach/Wallner. Don't believe Keaschall should be traded for anything. Rather, build the next team around him. In his place I see the most likely to be traded some combination of Larnach and/or Wallner. With the very good corner outfielders on the verge, one of this duo needs to be gone come February. Maybe both?
  5. Great read, Nick. Thanks. Personally, I would take a good bat versus a great bat. That's assuming the player is both young and capable of playing a good first base or catcher. Would then want another player tossed in, say a solid young relief pitcher with a year or two experience. The biggest question to this trade would be if the Twins use a substantial part of the savings to get another good player from the free agent market.
  6. Love this comment, TopGunn. Count me with those hoping that the pitcher the Twins trade is Ryan. My dream return is a young reliever with a year or two big league experience. Someone who can be expected to become similar to Varland or Jax. Someone who will be a late inning option for the Twins in 2026. Add a top prospect with some big league experience who is a first baseman. A player who can be expected to start for the Twins in 2026. Throw in a top 5 prospect who is a starting pitcher a bit further away, say Hi-A. Should be a team needing one more really good starting pitcher to compete for it all in 2026 and the Twins should be able to get a King's ransom. Hopefully, Falvey will go get it.
  7. Timely piece with the draft a few weeks away. Have a question and comment. I assume the Twins will be drafting high. Do we know what their first pick is? You indicated that they "still have room on their 40-man roster." Just checked to confirm, but their 40 man roster has 40 players on it. So it is full. Like most of us, I can see several outfielders who could be moved to open a spot. Is there any specific date they need to do that to be eligible to make a pick in the draft? Or can it be done the night before the draft?
  8. Another day, another piece talking about the "unclear ownership direction." Yes, it is unclear to us fans and even all those reporters with all their inside information. But we don't know that it is unclear to Falvey and the front office. For all we know, he may have specific instructions, including payroll, on what his options are for the 2026 Twins. Should that be true, like all of you I have no idea, his ambiguous comments would be a smart way of entering an off-season of wheeling and dealing. What I do know is by the second week of February we all will know what the spring training roster will be. I remain hopeful that it will be a team who will provide exciting baseball at Target Field in 2026.
  9. After reading your piece, Nick, and Seth's report went and looked at the Twins 40-man roster. Considering the four pitchers just added can't be waived prior to spring training, there really aren't any obvious pitchers to be cut to make room for new relievers. Does that mean the entire bullpen will be coming from this group? Doubt that. Expect they will carry more than 19 pitchers, so likely cuts will be from their 10 outfielders. Maybe an outfielder or two will be traded for a solid reliever. There are also a few infielders who are at risk, however, with only 8 infielders on the roster those players would need to be replaced by another infielder.
  10. As I continue reading multiple reports every day, one thing is becoming clear. Most of the writers here are putting way to much emphasis on every word Falvey is saying. Spring training is a long way off. There will be lots of changes to the Twins roster between today and then. None of us have a clue what those changes will be. To some extent, neither does Falvey.
  11. Excited reading your opinion of where Prielipp will start the season. I remain hopeful that the Twins view him as a starter. At least long-term. Considering how few innings he has pitched together with the current state of the Twins pen it makes a lot of sense to look at him as a bullpen option in 2026. Could see him being stretched out so he could go up to three innings. That would allow them to use him as a bulk reliever, two or three inning opener or any other role. Should your projection that he be their closer happen, starting in the future could be off the table. How soon Gonzalez joins the Twins is somewhat related to how soon they move on from Larnach and/or Wallner. Same for Jenkins.
  12. Am guessing the Twins would draft very high in the Rule 5. So I am assuming there will be a few players leaving the roster between now and whenever that open spot is needed. Who knows, maybe there is a trade about to happen with someone like Larnach/Wallner being exchanged for a solid relief pitcher. Most disappointing part of your entire report to me, Seth, was that they didn't need to protect DeAndrade or Sabato. Was excited when they signed DeAndrade. Just goes to prove that when signing 16 year olds one never knows what to expect.
  13. No nothing about either the guy coming from Tampa Bay or the guy leaving the organization. What I like is that their first move is for a bullpen arm. Expect there will be many more trades for bullpen arms over the coming months. Hopefully, at least one is for someone capable of pitching the 8th or 9th innings. Should they make four or five trades like this, hopefully, one will be a pleasant surprise and another will be a solid middle innings guy. Bullpen needs a lot of work. This is step one.
  14. Always find it enjoyable reading about the AFL and how our Twins prospects fare. Thanks for keeping us informed this year, Steve. It is appreciated. A lot by some of us. Exciting seeing the week Winokur had as the season ended. Assume he was facing top pitching in the playoffs when he did very well. Don't know what to think of Amick. Guess we will have to wait and see how he performs in 2026. Boadas was the surprise of the fall. At least to me. Should be exciting watching him next spring to see if what we just saw can be who he is. As for the rest of the Twins pitchers? Other than Seachrist, it hurt reading their numbers.
  15. Misunderstood what you were getting at when reading your headline, Cody. Thought you would be talking about who the Twins core is. Or should be? I don't see any of this group as part of their core. Lewis might be, but they need him to play like he should most of next year for that to be a fact. The problem then will be his approaching free agency and likely out the door should he be who he should be. So no, he probably isn't part of their core either. So that means none of these are part of their core to build around. At least in my opinion. Expect some or most of your #1-#5 will be.
  16. It isn't clear who will be coaching the catchers and infield. Will Rabelo work with the catchers? Infield is who? I am most excited about Hawkins. Was big fan while he was pitching for the Twins and enjoyed his perspective while on the tv broadcasts these past few years. Have to believe a couple of their young arms are going to be in the pen next year. Will be interesting seeing who and how they do. Remember Sizemore from his days with the Indians. Kept thinking of Baldelli while reading about his injury prone career and early retirement. Didn't see who the third base coach is going to be? Love Watkins, but he ran the Twins into way too many outs at home. Overall seems to be a competent group who should be fine.
  17. Do I agree that this quartet is headed for regression? Buxton? Maybe a few years from now but not 2026, assuming he stays relatively healthy. Ryan? May not matter if he is pitching for Boston or someone else who overpaid for his services. Clemons? Who cares? His role with the Twins should be as a backup first baseman or DH, getting a max of 200+/- at bats. Woods Richardson? No. It seems this kid doesn't have what it takes to be a solid member of any team's starting rotation. Yet, he continues to get solid results for the past two years. He is who he is, which ain't all that bad. Expect him to be their #4 or #5 starter until replaced by one of the young guns on the verge of making it. He should then be a valuable trade piece to return another very good prospect, perhaps as early as July, 2026. What is more important is how much others improve from their disappointing 2025. Young guys like Lewis, Lee, Sands, Bradley, Matthews, Festa, and Able. Add Martin and Keaschall who were very good in 2025 but can get better and 2026 just might surprise us. Or not!
  18. These guys names are way too similar. Had to read half the article before realizing the Twins had a new guy.😄
  19. Don't understand why so many of you see little to no value in Roden? Granted, he is a Wisconsin kid from Middleton where I once lived. So, I have a bias. I admit it. But just look at what he did in the minors the past couple years. Had he been in the Twins organization, many of you would be screaming that he be brought up and played, immediately. As for his brief experience for the Jays and Twins. It was what, 100 at bats? And in the middle of that the kid gets traded. I don't see how that brief experience should tarnish what he accomplished prior to breaking in with the Jays. I understand that he was traded for a local kid we all loved. I get that. But that is water over the dam. It is time to move on and give this kid a chance. The same chance Jenkins, EmRod and Gonzalez will soon be getting.
  20. Great article, Cody. And timely! When thinking about who they have, I have gone from expecting them to trade one of Larnach/Wallner to hoping they trade both. Some combination of Jenkins, EmRod and Gonzalez should be their corner outfielders by July. And it is a strong likelihood that they are a huge improvement. They should be fine with Martin and Roden as their starters on opening day and both should be fine DH/fourth/fifth outfielders moving forward. I don't have much hope for Outman, but he works as a fourth guy until the kids arrive. Have been dreaming that I see a Larnach trade any day now. Larnach and a solid pitching prospect, say a AA guy, for a young reliever with a couple years big league experience and three or four-years control. Someone like Louie Varland light who can be one of their 7th or 8th inning guys. They then use the $4M savings from Larnach towards signing a good free agent reliever. Yes, I know $4-5M won't get the top guys but should get someone dependable. Wallner probably has more upside than Larnach, thus, should bring back a better player. Preferably a young first baseman or catcher to alternate with Clemons/Jeffers. Maybe they have to add a prospect to get a better young player who can be part of their future, rather than a one-year fill-in. I know a lot of Twins fans will scream and holler should they trade Wallner. But personally, I am tired of watching him misplay the ball in right field while hitting solo home runs in games that were decided innings earlier. He's a Minnesota kid, so wish him well with another team and move on.
  21. That really is an excellent group, Cody. With the Twins biggest need being bats, defense and speed, four of this group could/will determine whether or not the Twins can compete beginning as early as next year. And what is even better is that two are a catcher and shortstop, filling the most important slots up the middle. Should all four of these bats become perennial all-stars, all will be good. We can dream, can't we?😄
  22. Gotta disagree a bit with your lead. If the Twins are going to be competitive next year they are going to need good health from Buxton, Lewis and their trio of starting pitchers. They will also need a couple of their top young guys who struggled in 2025 to take that next step. Guys like Lee, Martin, Matthews and Festa, although Martin was awfully good when he got healthy. Maybe their new Manager will be joined by a coaching staff that can make that happen. But yes, should one or two of the above shine in their rookie seasons the Twins just might be in the hunt. That assumes that the front office doesn't trade away most of their veterans. Considering how good both Jenkins and ERod are defensively, am hopeful that both can finally stay healthy and give the Twins their corner outfielders for the next six plus years.
  23. Not a clue what the Twins will do this winter, although this guy looks like a good fit. With or without Jeffers. Expect, or at least hope, the Twins will be open for business this off-season. Expect any deal for Jeffers will depend on what someone is offering. Since it is unlikely they will be competitive in 2026 and they have several strong catching prospects a couple years away, hopefully someone blows them away with an offer for Jeffers.
  24. Looking at Boadas previous stats, he was nothing special prior to the AFL. Great seeing him have the opportunity after missing all of 2025. Next year is going to be important as he will need to be added to the 40-man or he will become a free agent. That's right, isn't it?
  25. Great article and tool, Brock. Thanks. I won't be using this as I don't have a clue what the Twins will be doing. I remain hopeful, they do.😃 But I will be checking this every few days to see what, if any changes appear. Hopefully your guess of $110M isn't too high, although I expect it may be. Thanks again.
