  1. Moran......(echo) I have read here Cano has to work on his control and has many options so maybe not this year.
  2. Here is Larnach's OPS by month this season as an early call up trying to adjust to the bigs; 845, 704, 518, and 879. Looks like a guy who took some big shots and is picking himself up. That's exactly what we want from our prospects.
  3. Thanks for this well thought out article. I've been an obnoxious Falvine Fanboy who's gone strangely quiet this year. Some doubt has crept in. All you have to do is make a list of the arms they have moving up the ranks. I personally have never seen anything like this with the Twins. In the next 2 seasons we will witness many debuts (and struggles). The difference is the odds of a few making a mark is much better when you have this many. Then there's Martin and Lewis and that's no joke. It is hard to be patient especially when they seem to coddle the top prospects and we get to watch the fringe guys. On the other hand we got to see what can happen when guys get moved up ahead of schedule. Celestino and Larnach had some struggles. Celestino had more and he was also the one who was rushed more ahead of schedule. Larnach looks like he is adjusting. I will be surprised if Joe Ryan comes straight over from Tokyo, but he might and if not it will be soon. Keep em coming!
  4. Ryan for sure, Moran, Cano, Hamilton Miranda and maybe Winder in a couple of weeks. Maybe even Strotman.
  5. I don't wish any ill will on a young man like Burrows. We have what seven weeks of season left and I want to see that time used as wisely as possible. Let's take a look at young talent and move quickly and decisively. If a guy performs like this move on.
  6. The question I have concerning Alcala's scoreless streak is how many lefties did he retire? Looking at his monthly splits let's just hope he can put an awful July behind him.
  7. Rooker looked good last year in a short stint then got hit. Started slow this year but is picking it up. More time is needed to see what he can do, like the rest of this season. I could see an average DH next season with room to grow. Larnach's confidence is probably low right now but he needs to battle through it. I would not send either down under any circumstance except if Larnach needs a confidence boost. I would, however, bring up Miranda for any Donaldson absences.
  8. Sweet home run call by Bert! Just close your eyes and watch it all play out in your minds eye. Magic
  9. What are they waiting for with Moran? The time is now. I will say the changeup in the video looked more like a chase than anything to me.
  10. Ober will end up pitching the most innings of his life this year.
  11. Black Bushmills neat with a Castle Danger Cream Ale snit?
  12. Watching Ober right now and #5 starter might be his floor.
  13. Well ladies and gentlemen we might have ourselves a real live homegrown starting pitcher.
  14. Very descriptive, I almost feel like I was there with you. Check, please.
  15. I give them an A. I also am only grading the moves they did make. With Berrios leaving I think they had to keep Big Mike, plus I bet they resign him because he will take a reasonable deal based on his past decisions and the missed time again this year. If you trade him you are very unlikely to resign him next year. With Maeda and Pineda you actually have a chance to fill a rotation next year and be the dark horse that stuns the Sox!
  16. I'm not one to call for people's heads but I do not want to watch Happ pitch again.
  17. Yes it's too early for all three. For Cavaco he was raw and couldn't even get a piece of the ball last year. It is a good sign that he has improved to moderate production this year. If he keeps progressing that is a good sign.
  18. I'm with you on everything except moving on from the FO. They definitely are at a low ebb with many of their moves this past off-season not panning out. They are also playing with a lot of Ryan's guys. To judge their talent acquisition and development accurately will take a while longer. Coming into this season many were optimistic based on the off-season. Happ had a track record and could be expected to replace Odorizzi. His age was a risk. I was sceptical about Dobnak, but many thought he was a good 5th starter option. The lineup looked formidable. I was stoked. Then the wheels fell off. Now we get to see how they all respond, Rocco included. The Cruz trade is a good start. They apparently haven't alienated Buxton. The quick hooks may have soured Berrios. We will see. In the meantime hopefully we get looks at Miranda, Ryan, Winder, Rooker, Moran, Cano, Strotman, Barnes and Hamilton along with the young players already up. While we're at it let's trim the hedges, Colome, Cave trim the 40 man.
  19. Does Morneau get paid by the word? Howsabout we just listen to the sounds of baseball for a sec?
  20. I would say these two quotes need to be ignored. The Twins making low ball offers to save face is baloney.
