Ya know all of a sudden we have some good defense and Dobber's pitch count looks good.... Does he go 8?
  4. wabene
You gotta start Dobnak the rest of the year and see if you have a depth starter. Then if not try to move him to the pen, just do this methodically and don't mess around.

Not a lot of traffic here tonight. I, personally, was looking forward to Dobnak's start. Not good but I still want him to get the ball every five days the rest of the year.
  6. wabene
True the defense has not helped him but Dobnak needs to pick it up. Not hopeful for his future right now.

Some mediocre and bad defense but Dobs isn't quite sharp. Maybe he'll pull it together.

That's a nice look for a lady on the tennis court, just sayin. I know it is a completely stupid complaint! I'm down with the 'stache

A grown man in white glasses, not my cuppa. Other than that go Dobber!

Wait a sec here I should probably add the Reusse can be a very good human interest writer mixing in old stories, like very good. His opinions? Again forgetaboutit!

Reusse is a columnist who's job is to opine on all sports. Therefore he cannot have the intimate knowledge of a geek like Gleeman who obsesses over baseball. I have tried to listen to Reusse on podcasts before (didn't bother this time) and his takes are always ill informed and off-base in my opinion. His personality can be entertaining in small doses, but what he says usually erases that quickly. Don't want to be a bobo here but if you want a good baseball podcast it is Gleeman and the Geek hands down. Nothing's perfect but I usually agree with them. Lately I've listened to Chin Music with LENIII, Smalley and Souhan. Souhan mostly stays out of the way (good thing). LENIII is entertaining, sometimes insightful but definitely not as researched as the geeks mentioned above. He is a columnist now so he has an excuse. Smalley is an older ex-player and sometimes might be a little out of date, but many times I think he has some really good insight. The stories they tell can be good as well. I have tried some others, but these are the two I go to now. Maybe I'm missing something, let me know. Reusse? Forgetaboutit!!

Age is just a number. Different people mature differently and encounter different circumstances.
  14. wabene
Why is he scheduled to pitch in the 50's? If so a flattop is in order.

It is possible to point out bad behavior dispassionately.

It would be a mistake to send Jax down, his future may be the pen but I want to watch him start the rest of the year. Get Ryan up too no one is blocking him. Duran is hurt and Jordy Blaze at best gets a look at AAA this year. And that's all folks unless maybe Winder gets back on the mound this year. Oh yeah there is Dobnak. Realistically nobody else is ready. We should also get a look at relievers Moran and Hamilton. Ober, Barnes, Jax, Ryan and Dobnak are the starters the rest of the year. I can see Ober and Ryan making the rotation out of camp and Moran, Gant and Hamilton the pen. The rest, we will see, maybe Jax in the pen too.
