  1. I'm not so sure he wasn't able to do it, he just wasn't allowed to. Baldelli's double mound visit snafu pulled him when he was going better than today. Small point, yes.
  2. Again, this spring? We all had seen what we thought Buxton could be, but who was willing to pony up for the full projected performance at the beginning of the year? Now I think the ranks of the believers are growing as is the price tag.
  3. That pitch Gallo hit was a 95mph fastball up and in about 6 inches off the plate. At that point don't you just to your cap?
  4. How did the front office blow it? When did they have an opportunity to sign him? Apparently they talked this spring, would you have signed him for $250m this spring?
  5. Getting a swing against an occasional lefty wouldn't hurt.
  6. Maybe even some swings against a lefty! Seriously if they are going to run a 2 catcher platoon with 2 righties, they should split all the at bats. Gotta think the all righty thing was tough on the young catcher.
  7. Bob's said,"Also, I'm going to be REALLY curious what Maeda looks like once the weather warms.Guy pitched in NL West entire career...and didn't pitch in Minnesota til July in 2020 due to Covid." This is a really good point. Maeda relies on command and I can see how the cold could be getting to him. He has appeared frustrated. I'm counting on Kenta figuring it out.
  8. I don't think anybody said those stats count for anything. We are in an age where there are so many outlets for information and in baseball people are dissecting minutia to try to explain things or gain an edge. The Twins have laid an egg. The only solace I would get from those stats are that the talent hasn't just disappeared and things could swing in the other direction.
  9. I'm cold can I have a blanket?
  10. Sometimes all you can do is laugh. Operation Mind crime is a bastian of positivity on this site! Definitely needed.
  11. Defense or bullpen? Tough, tough, deal.
  12. I like Rogers for 2, but I would not do a 3rd inning. 1 or 2 innings is how I would use him, but with 2 innings quite often.
  13. I think this is the way to use Rogers. No back to back, but many multiple inning outings. Then 2 or 3 days off.
  14. It always seems that players from warm climates tend to start slow and ramp up when the weather warms. Cruz must have the cheat code. Did he pass it to Buxton?
  15. Garver has looked ok against lefties, but Cave? C'mon now. I would've picked a different day to rest Kepler. Edit: oops should've checked he's 2 for 11 each against lefties and righties with 1 homer each. Same same. It is their plan to play him against lefties so I'm sure it will continue.
  16. I think this is something that should be looked at by someone with more patience than me. We have rently become aware of a performance dip for pitchers pitching without rest. How about 2 inning outings? Does that effect performance? Could they then be used with one day of rest sometimes or does it have to be more? Might help with the pace of play issues.
  17. Having another righty bat in the outfield like Garlic to mash lefties has been a missing ingredient on the last two teams. Good addition. Never did get Kevin Pillar but Garlic will do.
  18. Yes i have my aches and pains in my oldish age, but i have to say winning baseball doesn't hurt.
