  1. Throwing to first with Arraez there is like trying to hit a long shot on a twelve foot snooker table. Tiny hole, lots of green.
  2. I think what happens with Berrios is, like all pitchers, sometimes he just doesn't have it. The problem is he will get visibly frustrated and be unable to work around the missing pitch and slap together a good start. Or, better yet, get that pitch under control. I do remember a start last year where he was, flying open and his pitches were everywhere, but he bore down and found his mojo. Ended up with a really good outing. That was encouraging.
  3. Doesn't seem like this was the first time driving after having a couple. Sheesh, .03? I would have still been lying on the floor at wherever they were drinking.
  4. There will come a day when John decides which profile he prefers, or maybe there won't.
  5. It was reported that he got a 4th option, then the report changed to that option being arbitrated. We'll see.
  6. Agree on Duffey. I would say Colina is the next fireballer up!
  7. It's interesting to me that this is happening now with Buxton and Berrios. The perception was Sano wanted to go to NY, that Berrios wouldn't sign and the Buxton would be angry about the service time thing and also would be gone. Now it appears things are pretty rosie in that clubhouse and this is one happy team.I guess this turns the Minnesota Sports Insecurity Syndrome on it's head. I'm glad because I get tired of hearing it. So we've got a beautiful ballpark, beautiful Minnesota summers and a team that is a joy to follow on all levels. I think you have to credit this front office, the coaches and JP for this turn of events.
  8. I like Arraez and Polanco splitting the duties except when Polanco's ankle is healthy he's better from the left side. I don't think we have the righty bat that projects to a lead off role. Buxton is not that guy, at least not now. Taking all that into consideration I like Kepler at 4 and Arraez and Polanco leading off.
  9. Romero and Simmons are at completely different places in their playing careers. Although they both probably imbibe in nature's gift, I don't see Simmons making the same kind of bonehead rookie mistake Romero made. Simmons has been doing this and doing it well for a decade. Patience and foresight, grasshopper. Speaking of patience, whoa maybe some need a little of the gift too!
  10. Sorry but there are alternatives to looking for blame in every situation.
  11. He's the man in his squad apparently, unfortunately that squad isn't the Twins. To be the man on the Twins takes a singular focus ala Mr Cruz, Mr Maeda, Mr Rogers etc.
  12. That was sarcasm
  13. This is exactly why i tend to avoid national sports reporting. They can't possibly have an encyclopedic knowledge of each team and they pander to the larger markets. If i want to know something about those foul dirty sox i will either read a Chicago paper or the athletic beat guy.
  14. Question away, but comparing Falvine to previous regimes (Ryan/Smith?)? You lose me there. Completely different experience.
  15. You're on I'll put it in my calendar! PM on October 3rd.
  16. The rich just keep getting richer, smh. It ain't easy being green?
  17. Good thing Maeda probably supplements his income with his fame in Japan because he sure is getting ripped off over here.
  18. Mr Lease again sums it up for me. I definitely want a flyer on another starter to avoid relying on Thorpe or Smeltzer hopefully getting us to mid season where a young guy like Duran could fill in if necessary. Bank on the Dirty Sox and LaRussa? I'll take that bet!
  19. What did Gardy have against Hardy anyhow?
  20. We have plenty of outfield depth let's keep these guys in the infield where they belong.
  21. Thankfully the Twins aren't counting on their #4 starter for the playoffs, more of a depth piece for the marathon regular season.
  22. Ha ha! True but I got the tv free as it was rejected by the avid indoorsmen who inhabit my basement (they got new TV's). It's not really the money is is the whole business model where customer loyalty is rewarded with jacking up the rates. It creates animus,I mean who likes their cable or satellite company? And $175 is just plain wrong especially considering all the commercials you are expected to sit through.
  23. Very timely I appreciate this. We are getting rid of our satellite deal this month, $175 seems ridiculous. Thanks for pointing out the fine print I missed when looking at the AT&T deal. Figures. I'm assuming I'm blacked out for MLB TV up here in Duluth. That is the part that doesn't make sense to me. I would gladly pay for it even more than it is but hey the whole thing is frustrating. I recently hung a big TV in the garage...gah!!
