    He needs to just play and showcase, not only for the Twins but for himself. The Twins might be able to flip him for a couple of low level prospects if another team has an oufielder fall-out right before the trade ddeadline. Otehrwise, he will jsut become a free agent. And, unless he has a second half like last season, he will be fighting for any kind of decent contract. It's too bad the Twins weren't able to trade him during the past off-season, rid themselves of his current contract. But then they would've had to play more of - ? - who in the outfield the first half of the season.

    There's 11 guys NO from the Twins system in St. Paul. Make some hard decisions if there is more than 1-2 keepers, and jettison the rest and advance guys from Wichita. Make some ahrd decisions on the major league roster. Names like Margot, Farmer, Sands, Thielbar come to mind. See what you have in Severino. Dangle names like WInder and Kirilloff in trade add-ons (even Julien, if you will). Oakland has a couple of lefties.......

    is a pure no-brainer. They have so many options. No way I see them extending him or giving him a qualifying offer. Now Max just needs to make it worthwhile for someone to pick him up for the $4mill that remains. And that may be the tough call.

    If going to mention Canterino, might as well throw Headrick into the mix. Watch, thje Twins will run out Dobnak for a couple of starts!

    Royce Lewis will be anmed if no Twins wins by ballot. Lopez will have a much better second half. Buxton will play a tad better in the second half. Just a tad. WIllie Castro will be the most-valuable-Twin! No rooms anywhere near Cooperstown. You forget how big the Mauer Family really is. And I doubt most of us like camping. Ryan Jeffers will take back the role of catching and demand DH at bats.

    I sooooooo love Griffin Jax this season. BUT...like last season, don't bring himn out with a runner on base. He had so many tough 10th innings last season. Despite his often brilliance, he is still liable to give up at least one hit an inning. If he starts an inning, he can give up two and still escape issues with his current abilities. But NEVER bring him out with a runner on second or beyond.

    I couldn't argue his. Except Lee needs to play more second base, if that will be his position. But, yes, you have no "second baseman for the future" right now, just placesetters in Martin and Castro, better used as reserves and bench guys for now. Give Lee a shot. When a position is open even shortterm, you play the prospect, not the backup, if the prospect is ready. Regarding Kepler, just what we need. Him to go down before another trade deadline. Such heights and such a fall (between him and Jeffers) in a short period of time. Even if Kepler was the Kepler of a month ago, I wouldn't be longterming him at all for the Twins. I would be salviatin that he was valuable tradebait. But not sure what he is worth...now. I don't see him as a corner in 2025, so might as well get a looksee at Wallner. And hope that Rodriguez and Gonzalez get back into play and move up the lader sooner rather than later. Also, Kiersey is missing out on an opportunity. The Twins do have an open roster spot. Can easily make two more (Thielbar and Boushley). Are Henriquez and Winders better than...Sands?

    If Kepler goes down - The Return Of Wallner! Man, I would've started the inning with Thielbar. But it did make it easy to jettison Jackson. Waiting for The Return of Dobnak - long relief! Got the open roster spot. How short is the leash on Sands at the moment?

    Steve Pearce did sign with the Twins in the 2011 off-season, but released in spring training.

    No need to push Varland. Be happy with getting to the 6th. You have a full bullpen with Monday's off day in the wings. Or, only needed to pitch twice thru the order. That third turnover wasn't the charm. Especially in a still close game.

    ER will need to get AAA atbats in 2024. The Twins are aleady eating oen of his 40-man seasons and it does ERod little good not to face a higher quality of competition. I doubt he would get a call-up this season, but must be ready to show his stuff in spring training and, at least, allow the Twins to make some hard decisions on Wallner, larnach and Kirilloff going forwards.

    There was some controversy about that decision by ANderson and the Twins. But, in the end, he still as a workhorse that season and deserved winning placement as BEST ERA.

    Age is still on his side. If there is any reason to send him down (instead of, say, Kirilloff for a restart), it would be to start playing game regularly at first base with an eye on the future, rather than learn it in the minors. For his shortcomings with the bat, at times, Santana has been a nice regular target at the first base bag, which is valuable for your infielders to know who is catching their throws and the ability the guy has to lunge, stretch or just catch the ball. The Twins still have questions. Is Julien in the longterm mix, and maybe at first. WHat is the status of Kirilloff, who will be entering arbitration. Wallner and Larnach in any plans? Where can you put Brooks Lee if he has a great half in St. Paul...not that you need to worry about even adding him to the 40-man or the roster this season. Do you do anything special, like trade or release, Margot or Farmer when the time comes. Where is Austin Martin in the grand scheme of things. Miranda has played himself back onto the major league roster!

    Always scary when your "third" catcher is on the injury list in the minors, especially when already taking a 40-man spot, which means you HAVE to have a roster spot for an add if one of the BIG TWO hit the IL. The Twins could but Topa, Lewis (still), or even Stewart on the 60-day. WInder needs to come off, and will probably be optioned to the minors. The Twins currently do have an open spot on their 40-man.

    There's always a couple of possibilities in the minors. Blewett is one. Boushley is on the 40-man, so he SHOULD get a call if Simeon goes short again. Varland could be a choice for long relief. I would tend to favor him for that position. Don't forget, Henriquez is also still in the mix. And Brock Stewart may return. If Topa and Alcala can prep for mid-season, and Sands can hold on. Also remember that the Twins do have Winder, although adding him back into the mix means you have to make a 40-man roster spot.

    I don't think they hate him. I felt he was destined to start at AAA, just to get back into shape. The Twins basically lost him for two seasons. He needs to return to full form, keep his head in place, and then focus on being a major league standard. And, also, I feel the bullpen guys need "hard roles" in the Rocco universe, not just "it is their turn to pitch" or "we will let you take a hit because we want to save arms." Alcala's last stint...he never should've started that second inning. It was still a game to win. But Roccoc being Rocco...I blame Alcala's stint on Baldelli totally.

    I'm still NOT totally loving it, but accept it as we don't seem to want to play anyone else at first base, and he is doing an admirable job with the glove. And his bat has come alive. I can live with the average as someone has to contribute to 24-27 outs per game.

    Not sure what pictures Fleer purchased, but there are three different uniforms in the cards pictured. The Gaetti may be a holdover file photo from another (earlier) season.

    I'm putting it all on Rocco. Last year, the Twins pitching worked BigTime. You have to let the starters do the workload. Simeon could've gone into another inning. Ober was good for another inning. You have to use some relief pitchers twice in a row, but you also have to set yourself up that you don't need to use three (or more) in any game. This game. You need Ober to pitch six. Sands to give you wo innings if possible, as he IS the long man. Even when you have the game tied, don't send Alcala out for a second innings. You have to keep them punched down...any of the three that pitched Monday should still be able to pitch today. Of course, switching out your top-of-the-lineup in the 5th with Farmer and Margot, who will be your comback guys in the 9th, also shouldn't have beeen in play. Sorry, Rocco...you don't have to use every player off the bench every game. Of course, it doesn't matter if you win or lose a game. Just how many guys can play that day, and that you keep your bullpen in some sort of rotation, I guess.
