    Sad that Headrick ws also out until September. WOuld have hopes that he could be a potential "long" lefty, if not just a situational left-hander. Looks like WInder contributing the Twins in September is gone. Is there any need for Dobank - long relief? Wonder if the fate of Matt Canterino will be the same as others like Blayne Enlow, Tyler Jay, etc.

    I will be curious to see what contract he gets. Twins should've mov ed him at the trade deadline, if even for a prospect. Sometimes you move players for salary relief and allowing others to play, especially if your time with the team is diminishing on the horizon.

    I'm so hoping Headrick can develop into a lefty that can throw multiple innings in relief, maybe be an occasional opener. Even jut a one inning guy would be fine with me. Happy he's back for one month of work. If Moran can come back as a lefty opetion, and Fundeburk can control his stuff, he Twins wiull have decent in-house options for 2025. If looking for a long relief option, I would almost switch out Varland for Dobnak for the near term. Just to see if Dobnak deserves retention on the 40-man as the Twins try and get more for their investment. I have no words for his return to the Twins this year. Was he trying too hard, was he being quirky, was he really this kind of pitcher. Can he be THAT kind of pitcher.

    Hate to throw a rookie into the valuable centerfield slot in playoff contention, but let's see what he can do. Bat him low in the order to start. We need better defenders out there than what we have. Interesting about Wallner and Larnach setting us for the next x-years (along with Buxton). The Twins need to make some decisions as the decadde progresses. Jenkins and Rodrihuez are on the cusp. They have to sort out where to play Keaschall amongst other infielders that are promising. Including rotation arms, the Twins will be the Guardians when moving players as they get expensive. Congrats to Kiersey!

    I think the Yankees let him go because he was in 50 innings and wearing out.

    The first three in the order are guys you always want to get five at bats in a game. The next two, maybe. On most fronts they should be everyday players. So guys can feed off pitching reads day-to-day. Larnach, for some reason, doesn't swing at the first pitch. He does work the count, though. But wonder if that could be better served in the 5th or 6th position consistently. Having Correa back would solve this lineup dilemma.

    No matter how good he may think he is, he would still need 10-12 days in the minors, making either three appearances or two starts to prove some worth. That and whatever his asking price would be...time is running out. Could the Twins use him? Sure. Because the Twins have to start watching the innings of their youngstarters, maybe even sending SWR down for some 3-inning stints at AAA just to pitch and stay fresh, but not have the pressure of the major leagues. Festa and Matthews could still plunge backwards. Putting more pressure on a bullpen.

    Festa and Matthews have to be able to solidly get thru a line-up twice, and into it a third time. If they pitch like they have been, I would almost line-them-up with an opener so they can start with the bottom of the order.

    You can argue about pushing players too soon, but why wait. Make decisions. And also will push decisions on guys like Varland and Canterino to maybe become bullpen mainstays in the future, rather than signing reclamation propjects or filling AAA with minor elague free agents. The plus is that Lopez, Ober, Ryan and Paddack are all back for next season. Three around for three more at least. SWR is around for five seasons. So the Twins can comofrtably work new guys into the rotation over the remainder of the decade, or dangle guys for trade upgrades elsewhere. If anything, the Twins start having difficu;t 40-man roster decisions, watching guys reach minor league free agency all at once, or the age old problems of guys going down with injuries and being bypassed. It is what the Twins do with their players that will make or break them in seasons ahead. Like this trading deadline, one would think that the Twins had enough etra minor league pieces to get at least a rentable innings eating rotation arm, and maybe a competent lefty (some dozen changed teams leading to the end of July) for the bullpen, And till not hurt their "pipeline." What we see with Festa and Matthews is the Twins making early decisions to add to major league roster, rather than running out the clock to the 40-man add.

    Tough loss. Wanted to see Martin and Castro be aggressive on the basepaths. Whole new game if Jeffers hadn't been thrown out at third. Tough read for the runner. SWR ws exceptional against a decent lineup. 7 innings! Great job. Only 8 more starts for him befroe season's end.

    When Correa comes back, he goes to the minors. Sadly, Austin Martin will also go abck to the minors while we keep Margot and Farmer...because they are being paid big bucks and are vets.

    If anything, I would tagg team him with SWR, either as an opener pitching up to three innings or coming on in relief. SWR will need to limit iunning output sooner rather than later. Question is, who goes. Topa coming back. Okert and Thielbar are the lefties. Is Dobnak, again, on the short leash?

    C'mon. The Twins had names like Kepler, Julien available. Margot could be gone and easily replaced. Plus there are at least 140 prospects in the Twins system that could be involved in a trade, as well as maybe 1-2 of the top 25, if push really came to shove. The Twins NOT moving players who will basically walk come season's end (Kepler, Margot and prety much everyone on the St. paul roster) mixed with a shortstop, outfield and possible arm prospect.

    Yeah, we should be able to pry a couple of arms from Oakland for a slew of guys we dont need (Kirilloff, Julien) or about to go but still value (WIlliams, Helman), or soon to be passed (Sabato, Lewis, Fedko, Winkel).

    Kepler, Margfot, Farmer and Vasquez could all go. Julien, Kirilloff, WInder are expendable. The Twins have names leaving the organization like Helman, WIlliams, Keirsey, Isola, Fjardo, Shuffied, that could be major league ready. Names like Winkel, Schobel, McCusker, Sabato, Fedko, may get passed. The Twins do have to cut out some minor league roster space for the draftee signees. Better to do it in trade than just release guys, too.

    He was excellent, especially playing catcher and coming up and working a pitcher. If there is a stat for pitch counts, he has to rate high, getting that ball on a bat somehow (shades of Joe Mauer and Luis Arraez. He would put the ball into play, often on the ground, so you better be prepped for a hit-and-run. Why none of the other teams he played with gave him a chance is beyond me.

    Yes, deserving another shot. Twins are, afterall, paying him god money. Looks like Kody will be out 6-8 weeks, so he could go on the 60-day.

    Sands lucked onto the roster due to injuries fer sure. And Miranda could've been jettisoned after last summer. But he wasn't. Makes us hope that another opportunity will still exist for Julien or Kirilloff to shine again, but who knows. Woods Richardson is still a youngster and has been holding his own. That recent start agaisnt the Phillies was a gem. So he is showing that he wants to stay in he majors.

    I'm curious who the Twins have as upcoming minor league free agents, or who is eligible for the Rule 5 (most of the AAA organizational guys, and Sabato at AA fer sure) that could be dangled in trade. Saw Puk exchanged teams, for two mid-level prospects, one needing a 40-man add in the off season eprhaps.

    They can buy more television sets to show the games at their games.

    There is no reason they couldn't have hit $140+ this season. Really. Coming off a contention year. If truly go to the playoffs this year, us fans will raise "holy hell" if they don't bump upwards to $150+ come 2025. The team is pretty set for salary not only next season, but maybe even two more seasons out. Eliminate Correa and Buxton from the mix at some point and the Twins are flush with cash.

    The Twins have Kepler because of free agency. Might get a decent prospect. Is any team looking for a player like Margot or Farmer? If so, move them out for minor league depth. I would trade Kirilloff, Julien and Winder to the A's for their lefty starter and a left bullpen arm. I doubt anyone would want Thielbar or Okert, sadly. I would listen if anyone comes calling or Santana. Yes, Severino could be part of package, including another prospect or two, for a decent pitcher, like someone the Blue Jays are dangling. (Include someone like Raya, who dosn't seem to be pitching any more than 3-4 innings still). Also, anyone else on the potential 40-man protection list or futrue minor league free agent come fall.

    All the great fielding moments but the Twins still made two errors. Duran, forget the breaking ball sometimes and just throw heat!

    I'm not seeing a good future on the Twins roster for Kirilloff, unless the Twins want to hope he does a bounce (along with Julien) similar to Miranda. But if you could trade him for a parallel project experiencing trouble, could be worth it. I would also consider packaging him and go after a lefty (or two) that the A's are rostering. A's always looking for players low-cost with potential that can develop into further trade chips, too.
