  1. But didn’t they try to have Jax go two in the beginning of the year? What happened with that?
  2. Your celebration of winning is often muted. In a season where we won’t see as many as any of us would like, for a host of reasons, you won’t be celebrating at all, so I’ll take what I can get 🙂
  3. I’ll take an ugly win over an ugly loss any day of the week and twice on Sundays. So often we complain (warranted with this offense) about how the offense doesn’t score enough runs or the BP fails when the starting pitching has done its job. Nice to see those other entities pick it up and hold it when the SP fails. If that’s ugly, I’ll take it.
  4. Maybe you answered your own questions? Maybe his usage is what’s helping him be successful?
  5. Haven’t seen anything official, but this is what most are saying. The Miranda part is certain, the Wallner part isn’t official.
  6. Will they let you into Canada? They are pretty strict there ... 😉
  7. The scoreboards now block some of those rooftop bleachers
  8. Blecht … Wrigley is a dump … but, if you want to get to all the stadiums, you gotta do it!
  9. While there was a time I’d have done that, I’m not certain I want Kepler in CF today. I don’t think his defense is what it used to be
  10. I actually don't think that would be a good thing, defensively, imo. Where he's at now ... not sure I want him in CF.
  11. Imo, if we see either in CF this season, it will be Kepler, but defensively, at this point in his career, I don’t think it would be good. And I don’t think we see Lewis in CF at all this season, however, I wouldn’t be surprised if during the off-season something comes of that.
  12. https://www.twincities.com/2023/05/15/royce-lewis-takes-next-step-forward-in-rehab-assignment/ I think his comments are pretty clear that he doesn’t want Royce playing the OF. To me that doesn’t mean ever and forever, but I don’t think it will happen this season. I don’t know if it was a response to the Twins saying he’d be in the IF or if discussions were had behind the scenes. Kinda sounds like the latter, not that Boras was dictating anything, but I could see him having discussions with the Twins in the best interests of his client. Again, to me, doesn’t say to me that Lewis is forever an infielder, but I don’t think he’s going to spend any time in the OF this season. Next season is a different story.
  13. Lewis’ agent said something early this season or during ST about him not playing in the OF. Don’t remember the exact quote but it was clear that that wasn’t an option. Not sure if it was for this season or for always but the Twins have honored that. And Kepler has stated numerous times about not liking CF and that he’s uncomfortable out there. I don’t think either player has stated outright or publicly that they refuse to play CF but it’s been clear they don’t want to and those wishes have been honored.
  14. All I’m saying as those you listed won’t bring back much of anything but you listen to offers and see. I’d be surprised if we retain Gray or he’d already be extended. Gray wants to try the FA market and is going to get a bigger and longer deal than we will offer a pitcher. If we are going to sell, Gray will be sold and should be. He is the only one who will bring back anything of value.
  15. If you are going to be a seller, then you trade Gray and maybe Polanco, too, if he’s healthy. Agree on the others but you won’t get much for them. It’s not about ‘getting rid’ of players you don’t want, it’s about getting value for those who are worth something
  16. Before this goes further, there are many threads and articles on TD to discuss Buxton. Please don’t turn this game recap into another Buxton discussion which comes up daily and always includes the same arguments. Whether we are suspicious or think he’s injured or is just not physically capable … disagreement is not drawing ire, but there is plenty of that on BOTH sides of this … but this is all for discussion in another thread. Thank you.
  17. Come on … stick to the topic here … you are at 4 and 5 degrees of separation here
  18. I love it when Rocco has his daughter at the post-game pressers … so adorable 🙂
  19. He’s only been sent down once this year so he can be sent down 4 more times … I assume this is what you mean. Option years are different. You only use one option a year, but can be sent down up to 5 times within that year.
  20. I’d agree with that. Execution is always on the players. It has been up to this point and it will be after this point. They are the ones turning in poor performances so it only right for them to turn it around and start turning in good performances.
