  1. Why are you quoting me from a different thread?
  2. I agree with all of this. But is the FO there with it? It sounds like Rocco is, but, Rocco can’t alter the roster. He can alter how he plays the roster, and even if he did I don’t think it would help enough, but he can’t alter it. He can’t IL someone or trade someone or demote someone or DFA someone. It’s on the FO at this point. It always was.
  3. Also, the MLB draft is no longer strictly based on team record, so tanking doesn’t necessarily guarantee you the same draft position as in previous years, so it’s not beneficial to do so.
  4. I never watch/listen/follow on gameday every game in a season. Lately it’s not been about interest but about time. Crazy busy at work. But I still probably catch parts of most games in one fashion or another. And for the parts I miss, I read the recaps of most.
  5. You do realize that the body is all connected and that one has an effect on the other. I’ll use myself as an example. I have arthritis in my right foot. When it flares it’s painful. I don’t always realize how I’m walking then all of a sudden have knee, hip or back pain. A weakness in one area usually is over-compensated for in another creating new problems that seem unrelated but aren’t.. It’s all connected and leads to all these different statements of physical woes which leads to all our confusion of just what is happening.. That said,, as a fan I’m frustrated by the situation. And I have no clue what the real answer is or if there even is a long-term satisfactory answer for us, the team or especially for Buxton himself. And I don’t think anyone really knows, tbh, Can’t communicate what you don’t know. It’s frustrating and will be frustrating until there is some kind of finality to the situation, which likely won’t be a good one,
  6. But who replaces Gray and Maeda? Do those replacements get us to the playoffs or make our chances worse? The depth of our rotation is what’s kept us in it. If we sell on some of these guys, particularly if we are still leading the division by the trade deadline, I think we are basically throwing in the towel. So either go for it or don’t. I agree that Ryan, Lopez and Ober would be fine as a rotation in the playoffs, but I do think you need a 4th starter. Varland? Pretty sure I’d rather have Gray with Maeda to the pen. But that’s all moot, if we don’t get there to begin with. I’d rather get to the playoffs and lose than not make the playoffs at all.
  7. I agree that that trio is very good and is a big upgrade to what we’ve had in the past, so yay for us. However, who do we have beyond those three that we can regularly rely upon? Those three were never my issue with the BP, but that there is uncertainty when any one or two of those three are not available. And that issue is compounded when there is an inconsistency in run support, where a 1-run lead is on the line. We simply cannot rely on starters to go 7-9 innings every game. But credit due … Brock Stewart is a BIG find and the FO gets all the kudos on him.
  8. Was Alcala moved to the 60-day? As for Lopez, I thought they transferred him to the 15-day, but I'm showing him still on the restricted list on BRef. If he's on the restricted list he wouldn't show up on the roster at all. I know initially the Twins moved him to the restricted list, but I thought they changed that. So, not sure ... maybe they just haven't caught up yet with the roster on their website?
  9. That's a stat I don't really care about ... as long as they score runs!
  10. Yeah ... eye roll for me in attempt at humor
  11. I like stories that show our organization pays attention to the human side of things. On occasion I think they've goofed, but on this they got it right in how they are helping. I wish nothing but the best for JoLópez and hope he comes back as the pitcher we know he can be. “I really appreciate what they’ve been doing with me and just got to take care,” López said. “They love me, so I got to do the stuff that they try to be good to me. I will do everything I can to stay in the game. I love it. I love this team. I love the staff. I love everybody here. For me, [I’ll] do a little bit of my effort every day to make things better. I will do that.” https://www.mlb.com/news/jorge-lopez-embraces-mental-break
  12. For me it's not about not being able to watch it ... except for I'll be at work ... but ... since I'm solo at work tonight, I can play it on my computer ... which makes me very happy ... except that I want to hear Missa Solemnis (Beethoven) ... so I'll have the game on with the sound off. Nice juxtaposition ... Missa Solemnis as the soundtrack to the game 🙂
  13. Especially when many stadiums are starting to phase out their organists for canned organ music
  14. Mine, too … along with another Eddie … he was an Angel before he was an Angel 😇
  15. Well, **** ... I hate that I'm still working and couldn't watch this!
  16. Let's hope it stays back ... trying not to say something jinxy like 'When he's back he's back' so I didn't say that
  17. And we are up 5-0 ... not that that is a guarantee of anything, but ...
