  1. I’d say Martin has been a big plus, imo.
  2. I think they will see .500 again this season, but they won’t spend much time there or finish there
  3. Well, maybe not. They had a BP game on Sunday and still won. But yes, the broader point is we don’t have a good BP.
  4. A new coach isn’t suddenly going to change a pitcher with not enough talent into one with talent. The problem is our BP is not good because of the players not because of the coach.
  5. Despite his words in the past, he’s here, that’s it, Buxton has made more recent comments of potentially agreeing to a trade if this team wasn’t serious about contending. We all might want to keep him, he may want to stay. But without the commitment from ownership, I don’t know anyone who wants to stay when they have opportunities to win elsewhere. People talk about extending players … Ryan is gone, so trade him. Every SP on this team is gone at their earliest if ownership cannot make commitments to field a good team around them. Honestly, if I could, I’d keep the SP, Buxton, spend money on a 3 good BP arms and one good bat (à la Nelson Cruz), then bring up the youngsters for the rest. But, ownership is committed to bumbling meager spending. We aren’t going to see a winning team again as long as they are in charge.
  6. We posted within seconds, so I merged them.
  7. Sad, just sad. I’m going to the movies instead of watching the game.
  8. But that didn’t happen this time. And I’m able to react to posts.
  9. I noticed earlier that when I posted something, and saw it post, it looked like it hadn’t as the body of my post was still in the reply box
  10. You know every season we have a ‘Where are they now?’ thread in the Twins Talk forum that is regularly updated. Check it out. It’s not a ‘one off’ as this is. It’s regularly updated and even goes further back into history of ‘once a Twin’.
  11. Yeah, this is the ambiance at Wrigley. It might be iconic, and is worth a one-time visit, but it’s a dump. 12. That is very optimistic to think the Twins are going to do that. I’ll believe it when I see it. But, yes, that would be the way to go.
  13. I’ve always said that if the pitching holds it to 3 runs, that loss is on the offense.
  14. I’m as optimistic as I was at the start of the season
  15. So, a paying customer has a right to say whatever, do whatever, for no consequence? Talk about an absurd notion. Behavior should have consequences. It doesn’t matter if you are a paying customer or an athlete making millions. Don’t justify poor fan behavior by whatabouting this. And Duran was called out for his bad behavior and there were consequences. He doesn’t and didn’t get a pass for it. That doesn’t give a fan justification and a pass. Be a decent human, regardless. That fan’s comments were harmful. If you don’t get that, I guess that says more about who you are as a human as anything.
  16. I think it was already stated somewhere that Rojas for Funderburk, who will be on family leave (wife having baby on Tuesday), then Prielipp is for Abel.
  17. Well, it is easy … if you spend to get it, so yeah, not easy for the Twins. But I think there were some reasonable options on the market last off season, just weren’t ‘reasonable’ enough for the Twins owners
  18. I know that Funderburk is going on family leave, but if they are calling up two pitchers, who else is going down? Morris?
  19. Funderburk will be going on family leave (his wife is being induced on Tuesday) so I imagine that’s the move
  20. They may already be mostly gone. The pedophile protectors in this admin has been hard at work for the grand pedophile and not the people
