  1. GO TEAM CANADA!

    1. C-Gangster

      C-Gangster

Was rooting for them as well. For 3 reasons.

      1: love Canada

2: love to promote international baseball

3: after all we've done to them as a country they deserve a win.

  2. He wanted to go to third with the Twins, but they didn’t have a better SS, even with Lee on the roster. Part of the reason he wanted to go back to the Astros was so he could play 3rd … well, that, and the Twins not committed to winning. I know that Correa’s range had diminished, so did he, but he was a much smarter player with better instincts and was able to position himself better to make more plays. Lee isn’t close to what Correa was last year, even diminished, which is why Lee wasn’t playing SS over Correa. When Royce was out, why wasn’t Correa moved over and Lee at SS? Correa was the better option. And I doubt if Lee will get much better. Compare Lee to where Correa was at the same age.
  3. It really seemed that Boston was not looking for it, at all, and just kind of gave half effort. They didn’t seem overly shifted, either.
  4. I couldn’t really say from just one game. There were a couple of ‘just got through’ hits that made me wonder, though. But I’ve also already tempered my expectations there. We had a GREAT SS in Correa. Lee will not come close to that, imo.
  5. The guy sitting next to me at the game made some sort of joke about Lee getting a bunt single with 2 outs. Then the HR by Arcia and he took it back.
  6. Yeah, but that’s not at all close to the Tigers opening day lineup. Context matters
  7. Knock it off. If you can’t get into a debate with facts, stfu already. Your arguments tend to the side of disingenuous.
  8. What’s even more common is to ignore facts to suit a narrative, in this case, your dislike of Wallner.
  9. People don’t care about facts, only narrative-supporting comments
  10. Twins are going to get beat up on game after game after game during the season
  11. Opposing teams don’t use the back fields. Your best bet is to get to the game as soon as doors open and try to get autographs of players as they are warming up on field. But note that the best players usually don’t travel so you may be disappointed trying to get opposing team autographs. Your best bet is to go to their stadiums. Boston is nearby, of course, Tampa Rays have ST just up the road, and the Orioles in Sarasota. seafood restaurants … lots to choose from depending on what you are looking for. Dixie Fish (on Ft Myers Beach), Prawnbrokers, Salty Papa’s, Shrimp Shack, Timbers (on Sanibel) are some I’ve been to and like.
  12. Island cow actually burned down prior to hurricane Ian. The owners have said they want to rebuild but haven’t seen anything yet
  13. Those who still support those involved are as much complicit.
  14. If you look at the photos at the top it does say Caretaker Exclusive. Also, someone brought up this issue in the ‘Ask about the Site’ forum, where these issues should be brought up, Brock said there should be a blurb about it but for some reason isn’t showing up.
  15. Did you click on the ‘View Full Article’ link?
  16. Ambitious! Say hi to me when you get to ChiTown!
  17. Not many truly successful managers or coaches were also baseball stars. Sometimes it’s easier to recognize flaws in others than see it in yourself. When I play tennis, I can see all kinds of things in other players, but can’t seem to always self-diagnose.
  18. Never said he wasn’t. But then why didn’t ownership get rid of him sooner? You were chastising posters, or Nick, for blaming Tom for the state of the Twins. You seem to be blaming Falvey. I’m just saying, ownership could have corrected that sooner and didn’t. The buck stops with ownership no matter how bad we think their employees were.
  19. I don’t blame Tom, specifically. But I do blame ownership. Aren’t they the ones who hired Falvey and kept him there, and promoted him? I mean, sometimes it is ownership’s fault. I’m not sure why you give them a pass. I don’t disagree with Falvey going, but the buck didn’t stop at Falvey, it stops at ownership.
  20. This kind of sums it up for me. Whether or not you liked Falvey and Rocco, it won’t matter they’re gone. It won’t matter who comes in. So what if we get new chairs, chairs we like, they will still be sitting on the deck of the Titanic. Until there is change at the very top (completely new ownership), whoever comes in will be stifled with the Pohlad’s lack of baseball business sense. And we as fans will be disappointed season after season.
  21. Which direction? Putting Zoll in charge doesn’t exactly scream a move for the better. Not that I’m a fan of Falvey, I just think it’s odd timing. Right before P&C report.
  22. Those organizations have people that specifically handle licensing and permission to handle the use of proprietary content
