  1. Separate topic but oh my goodness.
  2. Bring back the dance party?
  3. 2 - 3 on the road. A one run loss, a 2 run loss. Relative to last year, still seems positive.
  4. Hughes will have to 'learn to pitch' and use his other pitches primarily. I liked watching Gimenez behind the plate, telling Hughes to 'think'.
  5. I have always wondered if Molitor's heart was in it last year after this interaction: TR: Paul, I've figured out how to replace Torii Hunter in right field. PM: Oh? You signed a free agent? Are you going to bring up Kepler? TR: Even better. Miguel Sano in all of his 285 lbs of glory!
  6. So with Buxton hitting .071 and Mauer hitting .091 can we give them a nickname? The point 0 Bros?
  7. Agree - he's overthinks- decides to swing before the pitch is even thrown.
  8. Do we know how many strikes he's framed so far?
  9. Can't quite have enough long relievers with this staff so I think this is a realistic acknowledgement. A little surprising there's not another RH bat for platooning against LH starters.
  10. The only other topics that draw more ire from TD is Trevor May in the pen and Mauer batting 3rd.
  11. I don't see May going back to the bullpen with the injury concerns, so I think he would be a solid #5. If Berrios dominates Spring Training it wouldn't be awful to have him start the year as a long reliever to allow him to get a little more comfortable in the big leagues. Last year Tonkin was the long reliever and that wore on him.
  12. I think the Twins are happy to try the 400 at-bat season first. And in 5 years there will be a statue so no he will never be DFA'd.
  13. A more competent hitter like Carlos Quentin?
  14. Probably here to lighten the CF load on Buxton to prevent him from playing too much and getting hurt, and probably here in case Buxton gets injured in Spring Training
  15. These things really end up working themselves out because 3 guys will come out of spring training with injuries and 3 other guys will be injured a month into the season.
  16. 'First' post and you deposit a solid single over the shortstop into left field...nice!
  17. I'm another not a doctor guy, but I believe the injuries were from throwing harder out of the pen, straining his back. He would throw harder when put in relief, and even harder when in a jam. To me that's another representation of total system failure - the pitcher not knowing his limits, and coaches/trainers not recognizing his strenuous delivery and working to correct it.
  18. Aren't the majority of our starters 'flyball pitchers' anyway, save for 'Gibby'? Does that make shortstop defense more or less critical? (SS gets less chances/more important to convert them?)
  19. There's a good chance that the Vogelsong plan is to get him going a little then invite new Phillie Scout TR to come see him, and make the appropriate deal...
  20. Sorry but the Ryan Vogelsong signing isn't exactly fueling the hot stove...
  21. Including a Nick Blackburn-like prospect = creativity.
  22. TK insisted on playing Brent Gates a lot. I couldn't stand him
  23. Scott Stahoviak seems to get a bad rap. His 1996 line resulted in an .845 OPS(!) 30 doubles, 13 homeruns. Tell me we wouldn't love that from our First Baseman.
