  1. Wilson probably will stay bc of his grit during Saturday's game. Mejia looks like the same slogging #5 he was last year so he can go back to Rochester. Moya has earned a return, though Duffey needed for length. Grossman or Morrison would normally be DFA'd, though Morrison still shows occasional power so I'd hope it's Robbie.
  2. but seriously that's who you DFA? Did they watch the white sox series?
  3. Watch this team win 4 of 6 now.
  4. TR and Rick Anderson can co-write the rule book!
  5. He lines up with odorizzi. Skip odorizzi for a start and start slegers. You have your pick of guys to dfa for a roster spot
  6. I'd be interested in seeing a post prioritizing the players whom should be DFA'd. There are literally 5-7 candidates. Adrianza batting 5th? Molitor might not be perfect but he can only write down the names given to him.
  7. It should be hotter?
  8. The worst thing I saw last night was Sano now striking out against fastballs over the plate
  9. I've been an Adrianza hater - but he must be working at his craft because he has improved this year. Hopefully it inspires those whom aren't hitting.
  10. I would take Chris Gimenez as backup C
  11. I believe this will happen no matter Dozier's final stat line. It will be interesting to watch especially based on last year's free agents. He could end up in a Moustakas dilemna.
  12. Work in other pitchers such as Duke - who's been more effective in a Loogy role Rodney - 50 year old closer who has come around nicely Rogers - Has been ineffective all year Magill - has been brilliant in a mop up role Who am I missing - Busenitz and Curtiss are in Rochester. Maybe you start feeding Magill into some higher leverage situations. Starting pitchers need to throw more than 5 1/3 innings every night. It also seems like we've played a lot of extra innings - which might only seem like it because they've been painful extra innings.
  13. We have 5 relievers w/20+ innings pitched with ERAs under 3.26. Please elaborate.
  14. I'm neutral on the coaches' responsibility. To me they're such easy scapegoats. This is the major leagues - players have established themselves to get to this level they own the majority of the blame for under-performing. The coaches need to help the players with technique when they get off track. That being said it seems like every other team gets more out of their talent. I'm not sure where Falvine sit on this season. I think if their feet are held to the fire they defend it as a lost season due to injuries/suspensions. I think Molly deserves the same. I know we want the compensation pick, but I consider trading Dozier soon if he continues to sleep walk through games.
  15. I'm interested in Rupp and I'm sure that plays out first.
  16. I think I'd change as little as possible and hope for better health for 2019. This is the Buxton / Sano era so let's let it ride. This is time to sort out the role players. Grossman/Adrianza/Wilson/Lamarre: It's already apparent that they are all AAA depth at best. Garver/Escobar/Morrison/Mauer: Evaluate them at the end of the year Lynn/Reed/Duke/Rodney: Trade Everyone else: Part of 2019. Dozier: wildcard. He'd be nice to have but I don't think he wants to be here.
  17. I agree, but both are sinking. I do think Buxton needs to be re-calibrated in the minors even if he's dominated there before.
  18. Shake up something to save the season. Influx of youth with Gordon. Addition by subtraction by dropping Adrianza and Grossman. Catch lightning in a bottle with the triumphant arrival of Chris Carter. Buxton and Sano to AAA. I turned off the game after 7 last night because I new the ending. I'm going to stop turning on the games.
  19. I assume Romero has an innings limit so to me a move to the bullpen lengthens his season. I prefer that at least to option 1 and/or a Mid-august shutdown.
  20. I say trade Dozier right now and hope another team is betting on the hot streak. Gordon comes up and injects some life into this team. Get an outfielder who can play corner as part of the return so Buxton can serve AAA time. 2nd half team with Santana back as the leader, Polanco and Gordon up the middle, Rosey, Max, and new blood in OF, big boy at first, Carter and Lomo DH.
  21. I turned on the game and saw Adrianza at bat with (8) batting spot shown - it took me a solid 40 seconds to figure out who could possibly be bad enough to be batting behind Adrianza...subconscious denial I guess. Rosario and Kepler continue to get better, Sano and Buxton do not. To me that seems like an indictment of the player more than the coaches. It feels like Dozier has been on an island all year, like he's not engaged or something. Paxton's great but someone else needs to step up before some of the AA and AAA guys seem like better options. That might be July.
