  1. Do we really have to do the opener just let him start I don't see the point
  2. Has anyone put together a projected 2026 payroll? I know new ownership can reset the expectation, but wouldn't expect a drastic increase. Just curious if that influences the need to trade these players
  3. The walk to the Ruiz character was the deciding factor. Essentially 4 of 5 pitches bounced to the plate. Willi Castro too, 1st pitch gidp after 3 straight walks, albeit a new pitcher. I say trade away the spare parts.
  4. Was there any comment on the Willi Castro play? Like he just fell down and decided not to run?
  5. 'Offense is the black hole right now led by a 35 million dollar player batting .217. Correa will heat up. The positional depth is probably thinner than we'd like but everyone knows our constraints. Jouliens and Miranda's need to step up for this to work and they haven't. We're going to keep at it because our pitching keeps us in a lot of games.' I think that's all Falvey would need to say
  6. I don't love the current state of affairs but I do prefer it to the starting pitching black holes of the 90s and post santana 2010s. Not crazy about Rocco's platoon split insistence but at least it's a strategy. Turns out it's probably not a major competitive advantage, time to try something else. Don't love Correa's contract but I was glad we signed a known player. Team needs a youth infusion maybe hopefully the young guys make it happen.
  7. A lot of good posts here that resonate. Star power has put butts in seats before despite costs. It's just not there.
  8. You can watch all this excitement for the low price of $20/month
  9. Getting him back before the deadline will be like making a trade
  10. A big swing might be position changes for Correa and Buxton. Maybe 1B for Correa LF Buxton, to try to minimize impact on their bodies. Not advocating but there's some precedent.
  11. Loved this - see 2009 as game 163 was just written about. Orlando Cabrera made that team go.
  12. Along with the contraction speak I expect we're not far from 'You know...Target Field is 14 years old and isn't generating enough revenue...we need a new one'
  13. I thought this was a great piece. Well written. I think on top of accessibility, growing apathy has been fueled by lack of star power, driven by injuries, performance, development, strategy. I'm afraid the team probably has to make some smart trades to get some impact youth, and then pray for health, and then let them play baseball.
  14. I haven't been a Rocco hater, but look at Detroits team. Tarik Skubal and 25 other guys. And A J Hinch.
  15. If other teams in town continue their relevancy it's going to take something besides right sizing payroll this offseason to attract anything but apathy from the fan base. Good luck Derek. Probably best to revisit 2001s Get to know 'em campaign and sell the masses on Zebby and Wallner
  16. I feel your words should be the prologue of the 30 for 30 on the Minnesota Sports Curse.
  17. Surely they must have a box of cake mix left from Cooking with Coom
  18. And at 40 million we'll still be able to compete in the Central Division
