    Last I heard, starting pitchers average 5 and 2/3 innings per start.Odorizzi is reasonably close to that. Odorizzi can get thru the lineup twice, which is much better than most 4's and 5's IMHO.

    Trevor May continues to be the most overrated player in the history of TD. Austin is starting to give him a run though.

    Any draft which comes up with 2 contributors is considered to be a successful draft. Too many on the board still feel the number is much higher. Only 2 per draft.

    Reed is a good candidate to rebound. Also, he has trade value. Let's not forget, we had members who wanted to DFA Gibson and Pressly before last season.

    If push comes to shove I like this. My first choice is to open up the farm system and get a youngish starter like Bundy.

    He was slightly below average. A teams 4th and 5th starters are usually below average. There is no need to over analyse this. What Nick missed in his recent article was, for most of 2017, he was bothered by a chronic back issue. He'll be fine next season and has a fair amount of trade value. We took the Rays to the cleaners last season.

    I think catching is a numbers game also. I like our organizational depth, but have no clue who will come out on top. Maybe our Cedar Rapids guys have some idea. We didn't get a catcher at the trade deadline, so I took that to mean we are not unhappy with our depth. Note, we only took one lefty at the deadline. I took that to mean we like our organizational depth, after taking 3 at the deadline in 2017.

    What a difference a day on the fan board makes. No doubt they will add a reliever with closing experience. I'm guessing they will trade for a 2/3. Look for much unhappiness when we trade some of our moderate prospects.

    I'm guessing Seattle is in the rebuild mode. Seattle is an excellent example of why mid-market teams can't act like large market teams. Arizona is another. Give Jeter credit for moving Stanton.

    I agree he's is a solid piece, but he'll be in Rochester. Depth is a good thing.

    Why in the world would we trade Gibson and Pineda at this point in time? We need to trade for a 2-3, not trade our starters. Believe it or not, we're looking to win the Central.

    Plenty of time. Remember, they got Cave for a 19-year old pitcher in rookie ball. They got Odorizzi for our 4th best SS prospect. They traded the 74th pick in the 2018 draft for 7.25M. At the trade deadline, they picked up 11-12 prospects for essentially 2 month rentals. The new regime has got it going on. The Impatient Brigade is just going to have to learn to wait.

    We're not going to pretend every other team wouldn't have made the same decision we did are we? There are tough decisions and there are easy ones. This was a no-brainer. If he wants to make the big bucks in the next few years, there is only one team he can talk to. That phenomenon is called team control. If his nose gets bent out of shape and he decides to leave as a free agent, the new regime has proven themselves as being very astute in the trade market. It's a win-win situation.

    I see very few quality options. Too many still confuse free agency with Christmas, which it hasn't been for years. Free agency is the market of last resort for most teams.

    We already have one of the top rated farm systems and no doubt will be very active at the trade deadline again. We need to make win now moves, not play games.

    Every team is on board with 1 year deals. It's just a couple guys here on the fan board that don't get it.

    If the Yankees knew he wasn't any good why did he spend parts of 3 seasons with them? Hicks didn't break out until he was almost 28. Did you know David Ortiz was 15 years ago? Seems like just yesterday doesn't it.

    Because we're fine at catcher. Entering last season, Castro caught the 2nd most innings of any catcher since 2013. I was also pleasantly surprised with Garver.
