  1. I had the same thought. They can clear off 2 spots on the 40 man with one move.
  2. The Diamondbacks are not the Twins, and the Twins are not the Diamondbacks.
  3. They are already a playoff contender. Enough with the mythical aces. There maybe 10-12 in all of baseball, and those not fortunate to have one, are not going to take their baseball and go home.
  4. Did you know last season we were the first team in the history of baseball, to go from a 100 loss season to the playoffs? Can't argue with success.
  5. We don't need another Berrios of 2016. Gonzalves will make it to Target Field in 2018, and Romero in 2019. No need to throw them to the wolves.
  6. Everyone is being realistic. 4th best SS prospect, in an organization deeper than any other at that position. Let's not forget Atlanta's top IFA prospect, said he didn't come here because of the competition at SS.
  7. 1/2 Santana/Berrios 3 Odorizzi 4/5 Gibson/Mejia 6-10 Is the strongest group in years. No doubt whatsoever, we will be in the hunt for 3rd time in the last 4 years.
  8. I'm guessing it was that advanced metrics non-sense the guys on the board are always talking about.
  9. It smells to me as if he'll be in ST, nothing else.
  10. Expect to see the opposite. We are actually stronger 6-10. Eliminating the Chinese fire drill may be a small consolation at this time, but it's a place to start.
  11. I'm not there yet, but agree with your thinking long term. I would make Lynn or Cobb the "P" word.
  12. Which they were. We have already had one meltdown this week where members were allowed to direct their pent up hatred towards the FO. Time to move on, so stop trying to fan the flames.
  13. You don't break up a winning team. I remember before last season, members wanted to trade those 2 for pie-in-the sky which would have dragged out the rebuild until the 2020's.
  14. I don't think this is correct, but none the less, I'm rethinking Mejia and Gonsalves. I like them both.
  15. That's correct and they will not be in a tough spot until the fat lady sings.
  16. Baseball is cyclical for mid-market teams, but the period the competitive window is open varies. You should know by now we are a mid-market team, not a small market team. Let me repeat something I have said before. Note, I will not guarantee it, I will merely foretell it. When the 2021 seasons ends, we will look back and see we were in the hunt 6 of the past 7 years. I know this will be disappointing to some.
  17. The Cubbies are a large market team. I read rumors the Darvish group was waiting for the Dodgers to dump Kemp and the Yankees to dump Ellsbury. Some people just don't like it in the land of the cattle and the wheat and the folks that can't be beat.
  18. If he's great, he's here for 2 years. If he sucks he's here for 4 more.
  19. My sources tell me they are squabbling over who will give them the best deal on printing playoff tickets this season.
  20. They had better not ever get over that idea.
  21. If we could sign two 3's on short term deals, I would get hot and bothered.
  22. That wasn't a spectacle, they were merely doing their jobs. After losing the Darvish derby, Falvey and Levine, went home, kissed the wife and kids, played with dog, and are now back at it. Everybody who's anybody, loses one now and then.
