  1. Personally, I'm happy I don't understand all the moves. Looks like the new regime is not going to just connect the dots. Like Brock said about moving Jay to the pen, the new management team is looking at things differently. For those who acknowledge learning the game of baseball is a lifetime pursuit, this is a great time to learn.
  2. We will know more at the trade deadline, but a fair assumption is they are looking to contend in 2018. If they decide they want to institute a new 5 year plan, they can still deal Dozier and Ervin at anytime.
  3. No so. In 2015 he played half the season at 3B for Rochester. He played 9 games at 3B in The Show, because he wasn't good enough to earn more time. We all remember what happened last year. He was terrible.
  4. Specifically, which near ready players are you speaking of? All I've seen mentioned is pie in the sky. I do find it refreshing, that our prolific posters have suddenly and unexpectedly seem to have embraced patience.
  5. So the team which had the most errors in the AL, needed Sano to add another 25-30? Unless someone puts a gun to his head, you will never see Molly play Sano at 3B on a regular basis.
  6. Not so. We can package several of our young starting pitchers at AA to get a proven starting pitcher. Also, the free agent starting piching market is weak, but there are several who have a much better chance to help the team next season than Berrios, or heaven forbid Gonsalves. We have money to spend, and the most valuable commodity in all of baseball, which is young starting pitching. The question is, is our new management team's marching orders to win ASAP, or are we embarking on a new 5 year plan.
  7. Vargas doesn't play 3B. If you mean Sano had to beat out Plouffe, never in a million years. Bad hands, lack of agility, and poor instincts. You do realize, Molly didn't play Sano at 3B on a regular basis until the last 6 games when there were no longer any wild card implications to any team.
  8. Vargas has no trade value. Remember, they tried to sell him overseas.
  9. I have a hard time believing a player who gave us less than 50 innings, while being on the disabled list 3 times, is going to be able to give us 140-160 innings. I would like him to start out as our #6 starter at Rochester and be the first man up( Mejia and Berrios can fight it out for the 7th spot).
  10. Trading by far your best player for pie in the sky is a sign of a tear down. Many on the board, also want them to trade Santana. I'm flexible, but I do go to 15-20 games a year and would much prefer they attempt to contend like virtually every other team. I would increase payroll and offer up our AA pitching prospects.
  11. What's wrong with being a mouthpiece for our favorite team? It's no secret he had a good relationship with TR.
  12. So you want to do a tear down and start a new 5 year plan? No one can predict who will win the World Series, the goal is to play meaningful baseball in September.
  13. A significant advantage is another way of saying excuse.
  14. I'm guessing Gonsalves, Stewart, and Jay have all passed Berrios up as the Twins most important starting pitching prospect.
  15. No one from the Twins even hinted that Burdi/Melotakis/Reed/Jones would be ready by June 2015. Don't confuse what is said on the fan board with what our favorite team is saying.
  16. Santiago is a solid, and will be a starting pitcher in The Show for the next 3-4 years.
  17. It's not even a partial testament. You do understand if a draft produces 2 solid players, it's considered a good draft, right?
  18. I heard he spent all his time in the office playing cards and drinking beer.
  19. Why? We can move him at the trade deadline. Who cares about the Pohlad's money.
